I believe the exp needed per level if reduce would bring life back to a lot of players I know maybe 15 - 20 people who left because at 44 plus its just becomes stupid.

I believe on Dragon didnt it take 5 years for a level 50. I don't think anyone is going to invest years of leveling into a private server or maybe I'm wrong and there is idiots out there.

The only reason why it seems 'slow' to level is because there is nothing currently to level for.
All spells are rare. All items are rare.
There are no level limits to content other than PB (which is pointless to hunt)

Hopefully with the new patch and the changes to drops this wont be an issue.

With this exp per level i know a lot of people would play again and the server really would be what you advertised when you said its 2-3x exp. I know people who felt lied to and left because the exp needed per level is retarded.

The following list was posted on the Game Network forums somewhere in 2008 I believe. On Euro I was on my way to 47 on my wiz and am almost sure these numbers were correct.

OP did you play euro in 1.4? It was taking people a year to hit level 40. Come 1.9 people were doing it in weeks, why? Because of updates.
