Yeah, "just" £30 from you, what about the other 6000-odd people downloading it? Don't belive there's that many? Just go take a look at the suprnova.org PC games list. Lets see shall we, 6000 * £30 = £180,000. There's plenty more than 6000 and there will be plenty more.

2) "Just" from me? how many peeps we got running/hosting/building/playing private servers? LOMCN has over 500 members easily at a guess, and this is not the only resource site for private servers. so... lets say at a bare minimum 500...

urban, i never said peeps fave up euro mir soley for private servers, but even those who dabble in private server play are stealing money from WEMADE, involved with piracy, and are being very hypocritical when they put forward their mixed views on what piracy actualy is.

If you count the fact that lomcn has 5000 members (not all active) but most of them dont play official mir and play private servers, so lets say 5000 x £7 a month is 35 thousand a month which would be 420,000 £ a year they loose from LOMCN

Well done, you know you to search. Yes, I asked for client files on 05-16-2004, 11:39 AM. Nearly 3 months ago and yes, 3 months ago I did want them (for the record I never did get them, believe if you want, you're entitled to your own wrong opinion). Bottom line is, things happen over time and now, I don't have anything to do with private Mir, aside from being a member on this forum.

Auron, how can you say you are against game piracy? You apparently cry small rivers for small gaming companies who can't get a break because "twats" are bootlegging their products. So... WEMADE are not a small gaming company in your books?

Yes, I am entirely against game piracy.

The last mir server i played, was around 4 months ago. Then let's factor in that i only recently stopped paying for my EuroMir account.

And for the record, MiR started up in 2002... I've been a member of internet communities since 1999....

in a "bad quality game" i would never pay good money for it, if doom 3 had been proven to be a crap game with bad gfx and sad gameplay i wouldnt waste cash. but doom 3 as it is has gr8 reviews so i will spend cash because it deserves it and i want the full features (most donwloaded games now wont work online)

But for euro mir, why would anyone pay for the crap service they have been offering the past few months (if not years)

If euro mir upgraded there service made it worth while to spend your money on myself and probbaly a great deal of this forum would still be there.

Wasn't looking for server files you tool. Read the post, I was looking for client files. I first got hold of - correction, was given - server files in August 2002. Since then I have only ever used that set of files whenever I've needed to. I haven't opened that .zip file for a good 5 months now. I told you, I don't do servers anymore and haven't for nearly 3 months.

I will freely admit that I have downloaded and bought pirated/bootleg games, which makes me no better than you or anyone on this forum. The difference is that I'm not the one condoning piracy, am I? Now, I fully acknowledge the harm that piracy does to the games industry which is why I have stopped pirating games. You, on the other hand, seem to be blind to this fact that you are damaging an industry that you clearly enjoy.

Where abouts am I wrong? I've admitted that I pirated (lookie, past tense) games and that, as a consequence, I have contributed to damaging the industry. You still seem to be adamant that piracy is not a big problem.

Retailers where I live and websites I buy from have an asking price of £20-30. If your too cheap to buy the game then you arn't good enough to play the game in the first place, you should just keel over and DIE.
