Well I see a lot of people complaining and I can only assume they are not reading the drop files properly, lets take oma king for example, you go to the omaking.txt and you find it drop file and you see this.

Now unless your looking at it properly you'll think its drop file is tiny and its never going to drop with those rates, but I am going to highlight the very important parts for you.

Ever seen a boss that drops an extended mass drop? this is all part of their drop design, basically mass dropping bosses, now with oma king its 1/20 chance for a mass drop oma king, when you get one of these the drop chance changes dramatically to something like this.

All this is added into the equation with the previous items it can drop. It can drop multiple weapons of the same sort as well if they are in both the raredrop.text and and highboss.texet.

Now the drops are starting to look a lot better, you just have to find a mass dropping boss. If I am wrong on any of this information please correct me Sam.

All this is added into the equation with the previous items it can drop. It can drop multiple weapons of the same sort as well if they are in both the raredrop.text and and highboss.texet.

Now the drops are starting to look a lot better, you just have to find a mass dropping boss. If I am wrong on any of this information please correct me Sam.

Thanks for the confirmation, I like the ''super drops'' - a slight change in the drop potential outside of super drops would be the only thing you should change with your drops. There is a reason my whole guild have almost full kits, we hunt, we don't moan and just get on with it, the fact of the matter is that items DO drop, of course we do geek it up but that is one of the joys of mir, geeking it up with your friends.

most ppl - do a boss run, dd/ok/rme/ec/zt get what they can (say 3/5) then troll forums saying no drops after theyve repeated it 2/3 times
curse10- all that (minus the forums) and then squeeze in all those sub bosses (rtz/cs) and new content (orcs blahblah)

In the wall of text people post on the forums whining they could easily of gone and killed queenant or something and got themselves a couple of items as most end bosses (the highest level ones in the individual cave) drop fairly often, killing 10 bosses and not getting a drop is not an omgwtf moment.

I dont think the problem is boss rates its normal mobs and the diversity of the drops. For my sin for example PSC and PT drop exactly the same, I make more % per hour due to kill speed, use less pots and make money. Why would I ever want to use PT apart for killing MTK, there is absolutely no point as I can get the exact same items in PSC and due to kill speed have a better chance.

The drop files only let you gain items from normal mobs through mass drops which is crap as well. Mir is supposed to be about the diverse spread and chance of items from different areas and bosses. Right now everything on here is just blocked together and the same making some places redundant for certain classes.

tbh even tho ppl might not know exactly how the random stuff works:
even the person who made these drops didnt know how it works:
simple example:
when you use the #CHILD 1/XX RANDOM
the RANDOM = makes it so any 1/x inside the child is ignored, random > it ALWAYS picks 1 of the lines inside child while ignoring the chances inside.

and next up the chances:
say your omaking dropfile:
it has a 1/2000 chance to drop one of the 6 lvl 30 weapon: except on a normal dropfile you'd get 6 times 1/2000 chance on each weapon seperate (so 6times more drops!)
then there's the seemingly low values
1/30 chance that it'll do a super drop (sounds great right?)
inside the super drop there's a 1/30 chance of getting 1 accesory/book < this means there's only 1 accesory/book in those super drops in every 900 omaking kills, chance of getting any lvl 36+ book is like 1 in 2400 kills, chance of a 'normal' lvl 36 weapon is 1 in 3000...
main difference between normal 'euro' drops and these drops is in the whole child/random design. where on euro you had 10/1000 chances of getting an item, here you only have 1/1000 cause you never get more then 1 item

in the end: the drops arent really horrible for boss's (but pretty much useless for normal mobs (aka non excistant).
but whoever made the drops has no clue on how the files work :p

good thread Xele, gives a different outlook on it tbh. However, FlameField only dropping of 5Super bosses a bit ****. this needs to drop from mobs at a very low rate imo. Coz most people don't do bosses, what about the levellers?

I have not done the exact math but I am sure that the chance is higher than that, there are 3 drop texts that the Oma king can draw a 30 weapon from and two texts that it can draw the 36 weapon from, then you also have to factor that there is 10 weapons in total and not just looking at them on an individual basis. Also you have to remember a LOT of bosses have similar drop files so the chance of getting a weapon just went up again.

I have personally found two level 30 weapons, one 34 weapon, two 29 weapons and one 36 weapon in a lot less time period than you try make out the picture to be, and some of them are off Oma King.
