It's really old fashioned(nostalgic) none of the modern touches of chrons or even better marble or zircon.

"Modern Touches" for the most part haven't resulted in an overall positive experience, have been catered towards hardcore mentality's only would be an understatement (maybe there methods to be to farm whales for all their worth), the developers in a way are as toxic as some of the community in a sense.

To be fair Apocalypses approach needs to be honored, they are trying their best to talk to the community about the balance of the game which servers in the past have gotten all wrong or they've gone to push their agenda on what they believe is a balanced game and basically said "well when xxx class gets +7 luck then you're good".
The Sin vs Warrior argument has been over discussed to death in the past, so many good ideas from forum posters but barely any changes to the system were made and Wizard have always needed a nerf to compensate for the fact that they are on private servers as there isn't any proper guild/boss competition and not enough threat to their lifes yet this class is in the background lvling and earning money in like a beast while warrior and sin bicker.

The only thing wrong with Apocalypse atm is that they didn't account for the amount of try hards who keep on try harding, I was actually gobsmacked at how many people were above my lvl on Zircon at the first month of play, roughly 80 or so and I had plenty of time to spare.

So you're above lvl 40, have a dominance advantage over most and now you are bored, rush to the forums to complain essentially trying to shove a knife toward a development team who from the start is putting their players first (makes a change!).

These Alpha's in the community need to stop talking and vent their fustrations towards a game that can handle it, like LoL, have more than 1 hobby right, it's not hard! If you're gonna post have it be constructive about balance of classes or something else, Apocalypse team seem to be wanting to change the game for the better and haven't leaned any other way so try and help them.

Its good that spells wernt balanced from the start?
Consider me educated

Have you ever played a Mir server were spells were balanced from the start? I'm actually curious.

I can't see the fascination with this server. It's new maybe that's about it? I still choose older severs over it as user count does not bother me.

Do people just play as everyone else does? A Chronicles revamps would anilate this

I think its a bit unfair to say its an out of box C# server, as it really isn't. Huge work went into Archer Class, drops, quests, Monsters health/damage and locations.
Almost all mechanics were adjusted to give new experience with a Euro clone attempt, from refining to crafting to group leveling (which finally a server has got right imo, should be easier leveling with friends and encourage people to make buddies)
Guild also some what was done right with capping at 30 members (but i think can go up to 50 unfortunately, with guild leveling i believe.) With this there is many guilds not just the one or two power horses.
Cant forget this is still supposed to Euro Server like clone, so you cannot expect drastic changes to the base files.

However, the feeling that some people express are very much present. We were informed this was in development for 3 years... what i think happened here was, in year one they worked on it for a coupe of months, then gave up on it and repeated same process for the following two years.
This is seen specially with the quests, balance, bugs and features, it looks like each time they returned to the project, they came back with different views.

The server being untested at launch was a huge mistake, so many bugs, features you would expect to be the first things to be worked into the game just was not completed.
-Pick-axes weren't in shops - in game now (3rd patch i think)
-The mines were not mine-able - in game now(4th patch i think)
-Refine was not in the game - in game now(9th patch)
-Two different Junk NPCs, one only half finished (Collector NPC) which only accepts half the items, the items its dosent accept glitch out in bag causing you to re-log.
-No buy backs from shops, nor no selling items to shops so they can start stocking some gear
-No fishing
-Basic Skills (Skele, fireball, thunderbolt which are just the few obvious ones which were not even looked at) most resolved now, but still heavily imbalanced
-Majority of the maps have glitch spots when you RT, if you dont have a tt or another RT when you land here you are screwed.
-Class balances, this wasn't even touched or looked at prior to launch. Never seen a server (even the small servers) with such an huge imbalance from day one
-Solo play, while it was possible before, with recent changes it has pretty much vanished. No solo-able bosss so will be a leveling simulator for the solo players, nothing more.
-Pet leveling, still pointless to lvl your pets/skele to max as there is no difference from lvl 3 - 7 or at least no noticeable difference
Still many more bugs / missing features i cannot think on hand.

Finally, as mentioned, the massive elephant being the hardcore players. Without a doubt the lads with the biggest wallets and to no surprise always get catered for in every server.
They have their holidays booked or dont work for server launch, pay a crap load on PTW exp pots and bang onto lvl 40+, get all late gear items/spells where they are now able to take on easy/medium boss's with no problem.
They have managed to get everything buffed making it near impossible, unless your character is equipped and leveled like them in an established hardcore guild to be able to kill boss's as a causal.
As you can see immediately since patch 0.7, the user count dropped out by 100 users, at peak times yesterday was hitting 350, instead of the 450 prior to the patch which i imagine will only get worse in the coming week.

The Server owners are great as mentioned, they are listening to the community trying their hardest to please and releasing patches/fixes as much as possible. However, they are businessmen first, and the state of the server from launch shows that none of them played their own server, or quite possibly none of them ever played Mir servers recently...

Current thoughts would suggest this server will not last very long. I could be wrong with all the drastic changes, might have different opinion in a couple of days with next changes but, i think its starting to leave a stale taste for people, well the casuals anyway.

Good if your looking for high user count and a bit of a euro nostalgia trip, but thats about it for now. Honestly, feels a bit like it is a cash grab.

It’s bang average , for how much “ work “ went into it , the launch was a shambles. Balancing level 7 spells on day one didn’t exactly scream ” we are ready” , not to mention the fact that skills get changed every single reboot. Never known a server to have so many spell adjustments in a short space of time.

The content is virtually bog standard crystal files , with a couple of new additions which are barely worth talking about , the fact that 3 people made this is worrying.

People were smashing bosses and levels 24/7 because of how easy it was to kill certain things ( almost like it wasn’t tested ) and taking advantage of some spells being OP as hell. Before the GM then decided to nerf said bosses and skills ( a long time after the damage had been done ) , thus screwing the smaller players in the ass.

It is beyond believe how this got 400 users when it’s basically untested raw c files with a couple of renamed items/mobs and a socket feature ( which isn’t even the first of its kind.

If you are bored then it’s a great time sink. But if your looking for the longevity and consistent high user count that chronicles has/had, I would look
elsewhere. They barely made the first 40 levels playable here, and that’s meant to be the easy bit to manage ! Good luck with any new caves spells items.

Mate, read back 3 years, you never had a plan to enjoy this server and here you still are. Seems like were winning you over.
