a looping script perhaps that occurs every 8 hours? too many items restocking in shops as well as spawns happening at the same time?

I'd guess it is one of those causing your problem. Change stock of everything on database to say 5, and set a maximum of about 300 for pots, and say 50 for other items in shops? See if that fixes the problem?

Try checking how much stock is set in all your shops. I had the same problem before with 3.55 files, was the stock set too high and too fast a restock time. Like I said before, lower the stock amount for all stock in every shop and set a longer restock time. I doubt you'll find 30+ people all buying the same item every hour so set stock to say 30 with an hours restock time, trust me should help a lot!

EI will use a high % of CPU, the only way to combat this, is to set the priority of it to low when running and I ashume that when you say 1 core, that this is only a single core chip. If that's the correct, then your posting an incorrect Ghz.

you can host off that but i would suggest getting away from the single core and going dual with ddr3 memory stick, need at least 3gb ram for processing pf usage also, you could use a better processor something around 2.0ghz dual. just some advice

Unless the EI is designed around dual core, then changing to a dual server isn't going to make the slightest.

As for the CPU, I do have to agree on this point. Though AMD is a far better CPU to use, I would suggest using the AMD Athlon 64 on a 3200+ chip and 2Gb of mem is sufficient to run a server fine.

I dont know if this version have a script commands to do a mob cleaning and respawn check for maps, 3.55 have some commands can helps you to manage the respawn more efficiently, check all the starting scripts if have some functions running in loops, clean the merchant items every week and i suggest to clean the MSSQL DB log, an older versions of mir server 3.38 i think have a DB log cleaning tool, my very old server is using these techniques and running fine 24/7 with no problems. ;)

Try testing the server without over clocking, as that could be ur issue. As over clocking isn't ment to be used continuess in a server enviroment.
