favourite mmo?

im planning on setting up a server, not a large one, mainly a mess about fun server for my online m8s. but i dont know which one to dev in.

got a few choices so far, but i see a down side with most of them.

mir2 - very old, and has 2 many servers running
mir3 - very old, doesnt seem very popular
woool - reminds me of mir

lineage2 - very large game, not sure if it would b good on a small user scale.

WoW - server files are uncomplete, and again its a very large game

Rose - the right size, but maybe alittle 2 basic for the 'older' generation


if u have other suggestions of mmos, or opinions on the ones i listed, id like to know plzen.

Rose is good fun pity theres no proper server files for it though >.<

Sandbox private server rose is quite fun, to test out quality items and vehicles anyway!

EvE Online was good, complicated for people with few brain power, but very good.

ive only played private wow (rz i think), and iv setup my own.

the files are incomplete, only half the characters work atm
the game is so annoying for movement imo
the area is so big, ppl wld neva see each other on a small private server.

i kno ppl like official, but is private wow actually any good?

ROSE is a superb game even tho its cartoony, for some reason i love games wid cartoony gfx, which is prob y i am playing MapleStory atm lol

Quite a few people like Soma, but the majority of people who do think they OWN it and make it boring constantly pk'n you.

Ragnarok Online is pretty good for small servers and can be quite fun with high stats.

yeah i really liked ragnarok, i cant wait untill ragnarok 2 server files are made (wldnt dream of joining a foreign server anymore).

if ppl can name a few more mmos they really like ill make a poll.

suprisingly mir hasnt been mentioned as one to put up yet.

Tbh mir aint been mentioned because people just played mir so much and played so many servers that isnt much to do anymore i mean people have played high stats servers and killed all the bosses and played low stat servers and owned the newbs.

WoW wouldnt make for a good private server at all it needs a large community to support other wse it would just get boring with no 1 to talk to or lvl with and it would mean instances wouldnt be able to find enough people.

I havnt played any of the other games although i heard goos things about Eve and RO so the seem like strong possibilities as does lineage and i cant say for Rose as ive never heard of it

Rose is/was a brilliant game imo, its not as deep as lineage or wow, or even mir, but it was just so fun to play.

i say was, as i havnt played the official servers for about a year now, and it might feel different now ive played other games such as l2 or wow.

never played eve or RFO, might give them a go.

RFO is a grind fest >_< and gets boring fast, eve ive heard good stuff about

Played them all and without a doubt my favourite few, and the games that I think would be best for a small Private-Server community would be either, RO or R.O.S.E I know they're both alike with the graphics and stuff but they do have alot of differences.

Personally I'd like a R.O.S.E server to get underway as I haven't played that too much (Didn't get any vehicle) and I've played RO through dry on highstat and lowstat and all classes.

i think i may host a rose server once the files get more underway (atm all u can do is run about), since none of u have said anything bad about it yet.

Farril, weren't you working on the files like, a few months ago and making a server? I can't remember the name of it but I thought you were making one.

Mir3 needs a good server from LOMCN and you seem to know your stuff ;o

im working on my own, and it gets very tideous so i keep stopping. i can quite confidently put up the server now, but it would only hav a few original features in it.
