OK ive made loads of avatars & sigs, but only by putting other peoples images together to make new images... so i thought id have a go at making something from scratch.

its not the best work ive ever seen but i thnk its ok for a first go. there are custom brushes & stuff used in there but after all the fiddling u'll prob find it hard to spot them lol

anywho, marks out of 10 & dont hold back lol

was trying to make a periscope for a sub running just below the surface (german subs formed "wolfpacks" in ww2)

how about this 1... just tryed something random & it started to look like brushed steel so became this... dont like fancy ornate fonts as a rule, but seemed to fit the etched look

kk thanks for commenting, what would u do to finish the second 1...

im a noob at this kind of photoshop & badly colour blind as well which i why until now ive never bothered to get better. also means u may notice odd colours creeping in from time to time lmao... but i figured i should learn more as its another program i can support & manage. (3d studio max is next on the hit list after photoshop)

Newcastle!
I hate to be harsh but both of those suck, although I have seen worse they are pretty bad. The second one is way better than the first.

I think you need a different style, try going simple and if not try really grunge. Try and bring more colour to the signatures, adding reds and oranges to liven it up a bit. Use some complementary colours, but NEVER use all one colour in a signature, it makes it boring and no fun to look at.
Both of your fonts are bad in both, you either need new fonts or just you arent using good ones, www.dafont.com

Keep trying, you'll get better and better :) Many people would say use tutorials, but the best way to learn is trial and error. I tought myself photoshop, and I don't mean to brag but I aint to shabby with it. Teach yourself in my opinion, worked for me :)

Yes. If you like these pieces dribbler then don't change them unless the changes will benefit you. At the end of the day it's your siggy and it doesn't matter if others dont like it. But if you do want to do something different then go to www.good-tutorials.com and find a tut that you like the style of and work from it :)

thx guys, i wasnt making a sig as such... just playing with the brushes & chucking some text at it... problem with using several colours is a cant see whats happening well enough, i tend to use 1 or 2 to keep it easy for me to control.

need to find some ideas & then try again... but first i need to finish recasing 1 of my machines first... the front room looks like a bomb site atm & wife is moaning lol
