can we see some screenshots of the game shop?

btw a server can be hosted on virtual box for a few months totally free then it could be transferred on a dedicated host. thats how cheap i think mir3 servers are.

mir3 was actually created in a time when ppl used dial ups and version year 2000 software. thats why its so cheap to host a server, and i even thought it could be hosted on an ipod through a server app

This made me lol :lol

I think were beyond bored now, just need Launch date...

the worst part is that its not a fresh start if you make a new char, the server player list is the same on that server. fresh start i thought is when you switch server otherwise whats the point to start a new char and compete against/with the same players like 50 levels ago. best ever goes top 5-10 on all servers

In terms of items that I think are novel:
- Hair cuts
- Mount skins
- wings
- horse items.
- low dc/mc/sc buff
- low exp buff
- torches
- pk reduction? maybe?

A very simple solution...

For £5 a month you purchase an XP boost item that expires at the end of each month.

- Set the normal XP rate to x1 (normal rate)
- Make the monthly XP booster x3 (current rate)

All donations problems are solved. No need for cash shop or additional donation page.

Any significant advantage available from the gameshop will definitely put me off from playing, and would prefer not to see any kind of stat or exp increase available for irl currency.

However, as you mentioned the possibility of exp I'd like to echo Hyd's suggestion of making it a monthly buff rather than a short-term one. Not for £5 per month though, I think I'm only paying £8 per month for WoW atm and it's 1 of a small minority of subscription games that have survived that payment structure. Even something as low as £1 or £2 per month for a small exp buff would put a dent in the server running costs, and you'd have all the cosmetic sales on top of that.

I'm one of them addictive and competitive nabs that can't say no and frequently had 2 drop buffs, 3 exp buffs, horse armour, dc buff and dc torch stacked up on the Mir 3 global server. For a f2p game it was the most expensive MMO I've played over the past 12 years and won't subject myself to that kind of torture again :P

No fishing please.
Yes ok the armour isn't a good idea but I think you are wrong about who plays mir. It's mir addicts. How many completely new players have you met? Everyone I talk to has played Euro and other servers except for one(didn't believe a word).
People who want to play Mir will play this. All would pay £5 ish a month for something that they needed to keep playing. Doesn't matter what it is. I really don't want an exp buff unless the basic exp is dropped by the % the gameshop buff is for.

Someone mentioned boosters, those big but light pots mir usa had. I didn't play acemir to end so have no idea if boosters ever showed up but anyway, they would make semi acceptable replacement for the exp scrolls - those I wouldn't like to see at all but if we have to have something in that way, why not just the booster pots available from GS and maybe they could drop from some mobs in addition to the usual pots but would be more rare.

Other way how to raise rl funds to keep the server alive could be sale of tokens in GS which in turn could be used in game as a music box currency. I noticed acem had music this summer when I logged on, why not utilize this feature by placing a 'jukebox npc' in towns, either in SZ or in some building where pple could choose from the list of tunes this npc would offer (during christmas season you could offer a selection of christmas tunes like that snowman on mir usa played) and pay for it with that token purchased from GS - some tunes would cost more tokens. Of course if you have 'object model' that could serve as jukebox and look like it, so much the better.

It would be the same thing like jukebox in a bar we know from rl. Those who would find that annoying could always turn music off in options, perhaps there could be separate option to toggle map wide music and SZ jukebox music.

It wouldn't need to be in SZ but outside of it somewhere in town (not sure how the sound could be delimited to just SZ or generally to some radius but that is something to figure out for you guys), I can image pple would like to pk themselves to the rythm of some techno, places like contest building could have the jukebox too.

Perhaps the fortune teller npc would also require tokens from GS, I am sure some use of the token might be found in areas of the game which don't impact the game itself - so you could play mir just fine without buying those tokens - they would only be providing more fun features.

I really like this idea, is there anymore information about what you are going to do with the cash shop?

I have to agree Hyds solution sounds by far the best so far.

So Hyds idea of x3 exp for a while month of you donate sounds nothing like pay to win to any of you lot? You know it will be the silly committed levellers that buy this stuff so they will be stupidly higher than you.

The best thing to add to a GameShop would be some special glows for weapons or a better torch.

If you get exp boosts for donating I will feel Im Missing out if I don't donate.

The only exp buffs that would work well would be 130% of normal exp, it's only a small boost, but many hardcore power levellers would happily pay for it. But the people who don't won't get left behind.

Anything higher would just be pay to win.

I agree I have said that I would more than gladlt pay £5 a month to get my mir fix even if it is for a couple hours on every other night. With out any advantages such as exp n the rest of it. Bet rheres many more like this... if your not stop beinf a tight fisted yorkshire farmer (no offence for you tight fisted farmer on lomcn :p if any) n pay your £5, its a small.price to pay after all the edfort and money these lads lad's have put in, as well as the fact giving and providing you with a long tern server which is actually good! Where they actually listen to the consumer and get stuff done, not just to make a "quick buck"

You seem to have missed the whole concept of the idea.

The server needs an income to stay online for many years to come, if people do not contribute to the running of these costs, just like you would any official version then you are obviously going to be worse off than those who contribute. My suggestion limits the amount that someone can P2W so that everyone else can, if they choose, match their boost for a very small amount of money.

I will not buy a single cosmetic item as I have no interest in how my character looks on screen, it doesn't benefit the stats of the character and therefore many others like me will not donate to the upkeep of the server. We need an item in shop that is limited in use but also useful so that the majority will buy it. This pricing is also important as the majority will not pay over the odds for a private server ran by 3 guys (regardless of their skills). Otherwise all you have is 10% of the servers players are paying for 90% of the upkeep, which leads to massive gaps between those who donate and those who do not.

The minimum amount of income per month for someone on job seekers allowance is around £50 for those under 25 and £70 for those 25 and over. This is a monthly income of £200-280 MINIMUM. Everybody can afford £5 per month for their hobby. This server will not be open in the longterm if an item in that gameshop does not give some sort kind of benefit to your character/account.

You're living in a fantasy world if you believe this server will break-even let alone make a profit purely on cosmetic items.

Tbh I don't even care what goes in the GameShop lol.

Give them exp pots and items for all I care =/ When it comes down to it, i'll know that I earned my way through the game lol. At the end of the day, we will all eventually catch up

Yes but while you are lagging behind by 3 month or more the payers have the levels to kill bosses get the items get the gems/orbs etc.
I like Hyds idea £5 is very little
Exp and stat buffs are a bad idea.

hyds suggestion makes complete sense, a game shop with just cosmetic items will not cover the server or keep the staff interested over a long a period.

hoody dont be nasty its 66% better than the rest of the uk, post yours i bet its slower??:P

If people are going to pay £5 a month they will expect more than 1 post a week from the admins. And a lot more updates and **** than there was last time.

I have a feeling there will be far too much content in the initial release of this server. It should be all upto PB and BDD for a month or 2 then release the orcs and frozen stuff we had and after that has been done by most people you can add jinchon and stuff later.

Just because one guild or grp of players is upto or past the content don't release the new stuff.

If they was to add a £5 monthly subscription which is a nice idea but certainly would not work on a private mir server, you are deluded if you think it would. When i pay for subscription on any game, i know am also paying for customer support and a team of developers who will bring out endless content, now Chronicles, a team of 3 and only 1 with access to the server? I might aswell wipe my ars with the £5 note.

Just keep it simple.

How about put on gameshop- Revival Tokens which may be useful, which have a time limit between uses?
