gcse's are pointless. and are only used to get you into college. afta 4 years they wipe out and dont even count as a qualification. employers dont care about gcse's.

i got almost straight A and A*'s in mine. and bestbet is right (for once) they are very easy exams.

That's a bit of a sh1tty comment tbh. GCSE grades mean *** all to me. I didn't do too well...only got like 1 A, 2 B's and the rest C's, plus a D in maths.

Plus my A was close to a B, and that's in English! You'd think I'd have an A* really, but no.

But I'm no dumbass...far from it, without blowing my own trumpet.
I got a nice bundle of A*s, love you munchkin.

Well tbh gcse's this year were too easy. Their getting easier every year and i can't understand how anyone could fail them.

And where did you get that from? When i was at school the old GCSE papers we had to get the general idea of the paper was so much easyer than the actualy papers for that year. So your wrong there pal.

lol and? As I said GCSE's are meaningless. I don't regret having fun in school and college rather than being a geek.

I don't need grades to prove anything.

[/SIZE]Hypocrisy (or the state of being a hypocrite) is the act of preaching a certain belief or way of life, but not, in fact, holding these same virtues oneself. For example, an adult telling children not to smoke cigarettes, even though the adult smokes. Hypocrisy is frequently invoked as an accusation in many contexts.

Lol.
I'm far from a geek, but we won't go into that.

Even after all this crap, as long as you get where you want, you've achieved.
Still, if you don't have the learning abilities to be a person to hit A*'s and A's, if you're happy it's all that matters.

But it still proves that some people that seem thick, are.

Well done to everyone that got what they wanted.

Where you get the idea that getting good grades at GCSE standard makes you a geek?

GCSE level is easy enough as it is, but to make is even more easier, you get given a choice of what subjects you'd like to take. Thus you pick the ones you excel in. It's not about being a geek, that couldn't be further from the truth IMO, it's about having enough common sense to decide to pick the "easy" subjects, pass your exams with flying colours and get into college/Uni.

Also on a side note: Is it so hard to gain respectable grades and at the same time have fun?

Well I moved schools and area half way through year 10, which ****ed my GCSE's up good and proper. For several reasons, including the fact I wasn't allowed to take half the subjects I wanted to/had chosen in my previous school, because it didn't "fit into their timetable".

Well i agree with you on that up to a certain extent, but to get into college you need a certain grade (At least a D for a course other than retakes)

Even though it doesn't reflect at all on your intellegences, like me, i got 1 C, the rest were Ds, Es, Fs and a G and i'm actually quite smart lol (Not trying to give myself a big head). Example, i got an E in ICT, yet i have a First and National Diploma in the exact same subject (Some would say more difficult) and im soon off to University lol

But without the C in Maths and the 2Ds i wouldn't have been able to attempt the First Diploma, then the National Diploma from there allowing me to get to where i wanted to be.

Although tbh, if i did better in my GCSEs, i would be able to get here in 2 years rather than 3 years lol, but in a way ****ing up my GCSEs helped me, as right now im qualified for an IT job for 20K Starting wage, its just not the job i want lol which is why i'm going to Uni, so if i mess up at Uni i have something to fall back on :P

I royally fu‪cked up my GCSEs (got 2 Bs in English and one in history, the rest were D and below). But I had the gumption to spend a year retaking maths and doing some mind numbing business GNVQ at my 6th form so I could go on to do A levels. I was a year behind the rest of my friends but it was well worth it all the way. Not only did I gain a ton of new friends but I'm going to university this year, which is a far better result than dropping out of school at 16 in terms of both qualifications and experience. (Note that the only people who ever claim that A levels/uni are a waste of time are the ones who failed and never went on to do them). The moral of this story is that I am absolutely the most awesome member of lomcn and that education is never a waste of time.
