do you have a static ip?
if it's dynamic, how dynamic?

Why are you asking that? Anyhow it is dynamic and changes every restart/disconnect.

cuz your router may not support loopback.. and you have to setup your own loopback on windows... if it's dynamic.. then see how dynamic it is... is it a small subnet? (like 111.111.x.x)... or if it's something wild... (like all 4 numbers can change)

right.. cuz I remember setting up someone's 2nd and even 3rd pc to play in lan...

well if your ip is static... or dynamic within a small subnet (255.255.255.0 or maybe 255.255.0.0).

then you have to use "route" command on 2nd pc to route this net ip to your 1st pc's lan ip.
also use the "route" command on 1st pc to route the same net ip to 1st pc's lan ip.

if it's very dynamic, then you do have to think about getting another routermodem that supports loopback
