Game Programer/Pc Designer/Cartoon Drawer but heard they get payed shet so gave up on all that.
Don't do something because it pays well, do it because it's something you'll enjoy doing. Guaranteed you'll be so much happier if you enjoy your job rather than if you're only doing it for the money.

At least he's happy. His line of work may not appeal to you or I but at least he's got himself off his arse and got a job unlike alot of the people in the country. Some people just sponge off the state like the lazy fuckers that they are.

afaik college in ireland, is the same as UNI over here, but you fnish secondary schoolo a year before we do over here. (I have a cousin from ireland who goes to uni over here, and she is a year younger than most ppl in her year, so meh)

Tis fun talking about uni and stuff, cos over here college is a pre-uni thing over here, and my dad gets confused when we mention college, cos he thinks of it as uni, whereas we (me/bro) thing of it as pre-uni.

I was 17 going to College (Or UNI as you brits call it) Depends on if you do 4th year or not(Tis optional)

Exactly why I didn't go to university. The only reason to go to university is if you want to be a doctor, lawyer, vet, teacher, etc. Anything else is pointless to be honest.

oh. you mean anything well paid then?

sorry. id rather be stuck doing the carrier that i actually want, earning £30K+ a year. rather than being in a repetitive job that will go nowhere and earns me £15k-.

qualifications are everything nowadays. no one can say otherwise.

No, I mean professions that actually need the correct training. Qualifications aren't everything either and I speak from experience. About 2 years ago I was leaving college with a bull**** qualification in ICT which was a complete waste of my time, out of the 20-odd units we did I learned something from maybe 3 of them. In the 2 years that the course took I could have taught myself a hell of alot more. 6 months later I go for an interview at one of the best online gambling software developers in the world and out of the 50 people that applied I got the job and I can tell you now that it wasn't because of my qualifications.

There are too many people who put too much faith in the education system.

You'll find when you come out of uni, you'll only be able to get a 15k job first at most! What counts most these days is Experience, and employers will take people with 18months+ exp over someone who's got a degree but knows **** all about working.
