Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is sure to have more characters than were in its predecessor, Vice City. Here are all of the characters confirmed so far:
Carl Johnson
The protagonist of GTA: San Andreas. CJ needs to cross the entire state of San Andreas looking for a way to clear his name, save his gang, and make it out alive -- all by any means necessary. Carl is the character that you control in San Andreas.
Sean "Sweet" Johnson
Shot caller for Grove Street Families. Notes: Under investigation for murder, gang banging, car crime, and sundry other activities. Regards himself as a community leader. Believes gangs are a positive influence in the community. Virulently anti the spread of cocaine within the community. Naive, but powerful. Uncontrollable. Family [includes] Beverly Johnson (mother), Kendl Johnson (sister - no major affiliations), Brian Johnson - deceased, Carl Johnson - whereabouts unknown, possibly on the east coast.
Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris
Grove Street Families O.G.Not the shot caller, but a powerful influence, especially over restaurant choice. Extremely overweight. Multiple arrests and convictions, but has never served a long jail sentence. Why not? Family background uncertain. Delusions of grandeur. Regards himself as potential savior and rule of known universe.
Lance "Ryder" Wilson
Another key member of the Orange Grove Families, and close friend to Sweet. Together with Smoke, he's desperate to survive the ongoing unrest that comes with the turf of gang warfare. He has a "short fuse" and a temper.
Jeffery "OG Loc" Martin
No criminal record. Some unpaid parking fines. Unlikely to be a threat. Do not, repeat do not listen to his music.
B-Dup
Rumors suggest he has drifted apart from gang banging and into other activities. Allegations of false imprisonment and kidnapping of friends persist.
Madd Dogg
Recording artist. Notes: Problems with alcohol, cocaine, and egomania persist. Raps alot about being a gangster. No criminal record. No gang affiliation. Lives in his Vinewood mansion, never on streets. Benign presence - unlikely to cause major social problems aside from his immediate circle.
Kendl Johnson
Sister of CJ and Sweet Johnson. Emotions are riding high after her mother's murder, and she's constantly warring with older brother Sweet.
Frank Tenpenny
One of two down-and-dirty bent policemen that are putting the squeeze on CJ's old gang. Most likely, it's Frank and Eddie that frame CJ for the homicide he's accused of.
Eddie Polaski
The other half of the corrupt cop duo. Together with his scheming partner, Eddie is happily gunning for the Orange Grove Families as they fight for the gang's existence in Los Santos.
Don Salvatore Leone *
Making a reprise appearance from GTA III, actor Frank Vincent is one again to lend his voice talent to the role of the digital mobster. It's unknown as this time as to what capacity Don will take in SA, but he's in there! Since he is showing up, Maria and Joey might do the same also. (The screen shot is from GTA III.)
Old Reece
Elderly hairdresser Reece - a man who gives you what you ask for, and doesn't worry too much how you look. His crimes are many, but most of them are against fashion. Old Reece is your barber in one of the barbershops in Los Santos. He is voiced by Bill Cobbs.
Brian Johnson
Dead sibling of CJ. His death was the main reason CJ went to Los Santos in the first place. Some things are best forgotten about. However, some things return to bite you on the butt.
Cesar
This Latino character has been confirmed, but no information has been given out yet.
