You overeating ice cream doesn't affect anyone elses enjoyment of ice cream or anyone elses experience of ice cream.
I would like to see irl cash payrs hve their kits taken off them and loaned to them for one week each month, one tem at a time weaps locked on peace.
I don't mind pl buyin chars so much if they couldn't buy the kit/skills with it. They would almost certainly not get the items/skills them selves.
On a server with high users a small grp idle rich doesn't matter on a p server it matters. Cannot compete if cannot spend. People leave cos its pointless to try nd then they irl cashers moan that the servers dead. Own fault. Play the game or you kill it with cash.

You should also consider putting in a limit to how often people play the game too, that way it would be fair on everyone :eagerness:

I mean, those who have a demanding job, wife, kids etc, that they can only put in a few hours a week, won't enjoy it as much as someone who puts in 12+ hours a day.

This is something I do agree with and have been looking into it but maybe more like warrior 6 and sin 10 BH
That sounds good. If you are increasing sin aspeed possibilities make sure the double slash animation can keep up aswell.

You should also look into Aspeed in general, as pie said earlier the item stats are broken and although it was highlighted to Sam a long time ago he brushed it aside.

Euro - Gale Neck +4 Gale Ring +2 (after the speed change)
Chronicles - Gale Neck +2 Gale Ring +1
That makes sense. The speed calculation is different so +4 actually means +2 and so this is fine..

Euro - Smash Set brace and ring set +2
Chronicles Smash Set brace an ring set +2
shouldn't this be +1? (taking into account that whatever euro was should be halved?

Black and Zuma Weapons -
Euro -2 speed
Chrons -2 speed...
Shouldn't they be -1 speed.

They should either all be the same as euro or all halved, at the moment its a mish mash of nonsense

as for the cash buyers
why should someone who is willing to take a risk (its so easy to con people on mir) and spend their money on something they enjoy be banned. at the end of the day they are spending their own hard earned cash on something they enjoy. afaik no online game bans players for this.
[example] I like ice cream so I spend lots of money on it, should I be banned from the shop because I buy all the ice cream and others have to wait for more [/example]

BH

rather silly example because everyone has to buy icecream, its not a case of some have to earn the icecream on chance, luck and hard work while others just buy it.
But using your example, shops do limit the amount of units people can buy to ensure that everyone has a chance.
You have 80 players left - 100ds have left because of rl buyers using their rl bought "power" to "ruin" the game for others.
You decide if that's a good route for the game. Its too late to change it now anyway but these people do and have ruind the game for many, they have also forced other people to use rl cash and also enhanced your bot problems.
If the ban hammer came out at the first sniff of rl buying at the start of the server you would not have had the same problem with bots and rl buyers.
Cant prove it? who cares its a private server your here to protect the server if anything looks strange bang! if they are truly that lucky they can do it again.

100's havn't left due to RL buyers alone, a lot of people do join a server, get bored and leave... also, of those who left, who complained about RL buyers... how many of them sold their kits up for ££ when they left ;)

Althought this is sarcasm i think.
It does have legs.

there should be an Exp per week limit, boss as much as you can but exp per week limit allows casual players to stay in the game.

id say 100-200 have left because of being constantly Pked by players with kits that were bought, the other 600 left because mir is 15 years old and the nostalgia was more interesting than the actual game.
Yeah they did all cash out and I don't blame people for selling when some of these people pay so much, but if the ban hammer was smashing people, they wouldn't take the risk to try and buy in the first place.

A Heaven Armour sells for £500-£1000 - Top end that's 2 weeks work (3 for some!) or 5months benefits for others.
Its no wonder people do sell.
How people can afford to buy I have no idea. If I had a grand sat there it wouldn't go on mir, because its enjoyable enough already, aside from when rl buyers tread all over me.

The issue is not that it is allowed or not allowed, it is impossible to prove any of it, its not like someone is going to post details of the sale to us.
It is also against LOMCN global rules to post cash sales on this forum.

BH
Most online games ban people for this. It is against the rules. I've seen it on WoW for a start.

Think of it as buying a sex or drugs. Someone earned the cash to spend on breaking the law.

It it also makes all your points about how hard it is to gem redundant. With enough cash gemming is easy.

AFK mining on a few screens also makes it easy to afford nice kit.

You cant fully afk mine though, you have to go back to them each every 3-5mins. its such a hassle and the reason why there are not 100 miners.
I tried to afk mine but kept forgetting to check back as im not prepared to afk on my main anywhere other than sz lol.

If someone has spent the time earning levels/items and wishes to sell them, I can't see how this is any different to someone painting and picture and selling it? Someone has made/earned that item, it should be up to them what they wish to do with it.

Or Perhaps do away with A.Speed and introduce Haste like you have in WOW so it benefits all classes....Not sure how simple that ideas would be to implement though

these are the comments that make rl cash sales flourish. GM should be against rl cash sales unless the money goes to them. you will always have a flourishing rl cash market on this server and it will put alot of people off... as long as that is your view.

I'd actually love to know how Sam and the team are supposed to even accurately enforce it with the limited resources they have and still push out updates that players want. Blizzard etc have massive teams dedicated to this kind of thing. On a small private server you have pick your battles, they can't fight every fire.

I'm not trying to make excuses for them but there is limits to their abilities and I really feel that attempting to enforce Real Life Money trades (That are done almost completely out of the game) while not banning legitimate "I quit so here's my item" trades would take away from more important aspects of the server. It's sadly not as simple as someone reporting it and them banning.

You will have a flourishing rl cash market in Mir regardless of what GMs say or do not say. It is called economics.

Mir is time consuming, people have far different valuations on time(in this case time as valued in gold and rl cash), and it is possible to transact. No matter what the GMs do, they cannot change 2 of those things, and changing mir difficulty will make far more people quit.

So the GMs can change the risk factor on transacting but all that will do is drive the price of gold up compared to rl cash. This, counterintuitively, will actually make the problem more pronounced as the haves and have nots are more clearly seperated.

you are both not seeing the point i was making. when a gm says something is ok people will do it. if the gm says its not ok people will still do it but will change the way they do it.

if sam and BH said no rl cash transactions are not allowed, but no action can be taken without proof and proof of such transactions is hard to come by. i would much rather the GMs sell the items for the benefit of the server.
