[Help!] Video files not playing...

As above, basically it refuses to play any quick time div x windows media, all type of video files, My graphics card is up to date, my codecks are right, ive tried another set and they still didnt work so now im left clueless

This has been goin on for about a year now, and its beginning to annoy me, did anyone have this problem or anything? or have any solutions, please i really am begging lol.

Any other info would be useful what are you using to play them? OS? etc...

Unfortunately, no luck, again it froze though this time not as bad, i could still close it without having to restart my computer... Any other suggestions lol.

maybe ur computer is using too much resources, might be because of virus or something.

i had this prob with windows media player, it did the same effect.
btw, did u gave it some time to start working? or u just closed it immediately?

well, could it be that ur computer dont have enough resources to run the movie? was it 1 movie that did not work, or many?

well recently i had some sort of virus called key locked, its a virus that pretend to be antivirus, and u may download it when u download codecs from some sites, did u downloaded codecs from sites u dont know?
another thing, can u tell me what is the specs of ur computer, and what big programs runs on it when it starts? (for example firewall, antivirus, msn, emule ect)
