how many ppl can play off 2mb?

i was just wondering if i was to host a server wat specs id need to run a big server, like 100ppl
if i ever get a house id host a big server 24/7

First of all to get 100 people to play regulary you would need a decent server... Now for spec's, i guess 1GB of ram, and a 3GHZ processor + a 8MB connection would be perfect for hosting a big server.

Remember its UPLOAD that counts; (you may have a 1mbit connection, but you may only have a 256kbit upload).

256kbit/s good for 25-30 people comfortably
512kbit/s good for 30-60 people comfortably
1mbit/s good for 60+

Also, the CPU has very little to do with how laggy a server is, it mostly comes down to memory. Anything above 800Mhz should be fine even for the heavyist servers.

all depends like others says on upload and RAMS -> i have on my server 512kb upload special from my ISP (i love him) dont really know how much ppl i can host on that ... and bout 100 ppl ... hmm not in europe u shuld buy a house in CHINA

my upload atm is only 512 but i looking to upgrade soon
ram atm is 2gb but if i ever mange 2 find a house hope 2 up it 2 3gb

The MOst important thing as got to be memory like leo as said, and with the new m2servers coming out, i think they are coming more memory intensive.
