my pc is about 7 year old, i dont know much about pc's but i followed acpi tweaks ect and i used to be fast. i only have 2gb of ram and dont know if i need to upgrade my graphics card ect. but i actually get 65-75 fps with dxtory, got screenies there but image shack being a **** lol. i think my pc needs upgrading but i dont have a clue about them so would like any help what i need to do to be faster in game.
i don't do any of that **** and i get a constant 60-64
think mir forces v-sync... or something so it can only go to a maximum of your screens resolution...
anyone got a 144mhz monitor? what fps do you get?

If your graphics card is nvidia I had some success turning all the stuff off/disabling it in the nvidia control panel (dno how this will effect your other games), think I got extra 6/7 fps doing this but then again fps aint the only thing to do with speed. I'm sure if someone can sit down and be arsed to faff about with their graphics card settings we may solve the fps issues (lots of diff cards i know

A single core on XP was the fastest configuration on all 2.3 servers. It was never about who had the better PC back then. The worse it was, the faster it ran Mir (to a point). Old Dell single core PC's with XP installed on them didn't need any overclocking or tweaks to make you fast.
I have played with KEN for as many years as I care to admit, (too many) and I can say we have probably spent wayyy too long figuring out how to make ourselves as fast as possible. I haven't been successful on here yet but I will get there. I can tell you now, he's not cheating.

lol bearded one, back on 2.3 it was down to acpi, then after that clocking, and when I was taking my processor to -70C and amping up the volts to get 3.4 ghz,.. trust me, you know next to nothing.. then find ken doing the whole flashing across the screen and can't hit him, or him hitting me while i'm running away on mir reunion, also seeing him 'kill' xmas trees on mir reunion in like 3 secs, yeah I know he cheats.. Like I said, never been on a 2.3 where he hasn't cheated.. it's like he can't play without them, I guess once you are used of that speed you can't do without.. you and kori need to watch yourselves, there's plenty on lomcn who know he cheats like ****, why else he call himself sonic? He was moaning about how slow he was, then suddenly 2 weeks later a post pops up about how quick he is.. like I said, they'll catch up to him, and bann perm hopefully.
Nice thanks to OP. Was only getting around 50-52 fps in caves according to fraps, tried the gow theme and am averaging 59-62 in psc atm without tweaking anything else. I live in usa so any bit of extra speed helps

And who might you be?you sound kinda bitter tbh, want a cuddle?And yes i was moaning about being slow at start of this server and inquiring alot about what effects speed, but i also sat down for days and days testing until i worked out what works best for me and numerous people can vouch that so go cry elsewhere.
Fact is 2.3 all u needed was a tesco's pc, acpi and ur off like a rocket.
And when the **** did i call my self sonic? lmao

I did this the other day while the server was down to show that you CAN get Mir to run faster than 60FPS but it's completely pointless as the game becomes unplayable slow. Only useful for a nice screenshot :P

This just proves it. All those amzing pvp ers really aren't skilled they are only fast. So if winning pvp is that important to you spend hours making your pc fast for mir.
If these ppl wanted a fair fun fight (lol) they would share their info.
Lot people been saying that speed matters most now you have a pvp er saying it.

you seem to have misread my post, clearly i said at the start i was slow, and im talking bout slower than about 80% of the server even untweaked ppl on bog standard setups, EVERYONE was skipping for me so thats what i spent time sorting out, just so happens the changes i made worked out quite well for me, had i been on equal speed from the get go as the majority of players id not have bothered.
Well, I was running an average of 17FPS without GOW Theme, 15 with.
Decided to set windows for best performance and im averaging 20, woo!
Chronicles slowest player i think.
