[GUIDE] : How To Use Map Edit in 1.9

Ok i seen alot of posts, about people tying to get map edit in 1.9 working, there hasnt bee na full explination about it, os here it is :) a step by step in everything u need to do.

Step 1: Converting .wil/x files.

Ok first thing you need to do is, to make a new folder, Call it Map Editor. Now In Map Editor, create two more folders. one called dat2 and the other called data.
Now make a copy of all object file and put them into Data, and now make a copy of smTiles and Tiles and put them in dat2, and make another copy and put them in data.
Now downlaod
http://www.richens.dubhosting.com/?act=view&file=S2FvcmlNSU0uZXhl
That is a Mir 2 and Mir 3 image viewer and a converter. Now locate the new copy of the object files, load one with the iamge viewer, click File->Save/rebuild libery, it will now ask you to overite existing file, click ok, now it will ask what type. click Mir2 Type 1. Now wait until it coverts it, and repeat, with the others.

Step 2: Loading the files

With that step done, u pretty much can work yourself, but if u need a bit more, read on.

Download :
http://www.richens.dubhosting.com/?act=view&file=TWFwRWRpdDIuZXhl

and place that in your Map Editor folder. Open it up and it should ask u for 11-50 object files, just click ok on them all. Now open up your .set files (click Pallaete->Object(tile)set click Load and locate your .set file) Now if u can notice, some of the objects there are fairly messed up (this is due to that 1.4 .set file is used to 10000 images in object.wil not 15000 which are in the 1.9 files. u can ether redo all of these yourself(which im doing atm) or u can go to the bottem, and just add in the new object files.

Now u can goto your data folder, and do the exact same with the orginal map edit(locate the .set files ect) and make maps, and once u have the layout done with the orginal map, u can add the new 1.9 objects into it(the map might look a bit messed up but dont worry, it will still work inside the game :))

For the people that understood this, i hope u have a good time, sorting out the 1.9 objects,

for people who have no idea what the **** this guide means. ill be uploading a everything(including fully done .set file in the not so near future(aka 3-4 weeks)

sticky maybe?

Not to worry :) I'm kind of figuring it out - my pop-up blocker was stopping me downloading the program (which I found out I already had xD), so I'm building libraries now.

Just to ask though, will my 1.4 files immediately work in 1.9? They should, shouldn't they?

EDIT: Anothe thing - I decided to try and use an updated Objects7.wil and .wix to replace the original one, but it just stops at 70% every time (library index 6147 - which is just part of an animation for a tree - nothing dodgy looking about it).

Click the 'change dir' button in the Image Manager and select the directory which the Objects files you want are located in. Once that happens all the Objects file names will appear in the left side menu, of which you can select one and then select 'Save/Rebuild Library' from the menu.

You also have to worship Kaori for it to work :p

You got that far? Mine kept freezing at 99% of the library rebuild (on all objects files I tested) and as such the file always turned corrupt...
