Hypothetical questions

Hey guys, Bored at "work", Something I've always and well figured I would ask.

Remember when the first 1.4 Server files were release, loads of servers spawned from it, it was great.

Hypothetical questions:

If the latest official server files were leaked, do you think there would more there be once again loads of servers?

Which do you think would be more successful Latest Mir 2 or Latest Mir 3.

Do you think Source + Binaries or Binaries only have an effect on how many servers would come about?

It would be nice again to have this game/ forum flourish back like it did in the early servers.

Wouldn't make a huge difference I reckon. It would spawn a few big servers, but the newer Official files are more difficult to add things to Envir (See the leaked Mir3 Server exe). Would put quite a few people off I reckon.

Source would help, but most server owners aren't interested in touching source. You'd still have the same small (and splintered) number of people working on it. Latest Mir 2 would be more successful development wise, but Mir 3 would probably have the bigger servers thanks to the Polish and Spanish following it has.

I think the only chance of Mir to flourish again in Europe is if Shanda do launch an English server. They've done a couple of things that suggest they might but it's very very unlikely in my opinion. Private Servers aren't enough.
