lol didnt read anything i put?

I read the part where it said you worship me as a god :D . Tbqfh I entirely forgot what the rig in my Clio looked like. In the end I disconnected the 6x9's but left the actual speakers in because it would have looked retarded otherwise. and I put in 2 custom made speaker boxes that contained:

1x 7" sub
1x some basic 2.5" speaker thing
and a tweeter

These all sat in my boot because there was **** all else space for them, and im sure you have a picture of the set-up somewhere floyd, or will at least remember it vaguely. The 2 speaker boxes sat on their ends either side of the sub.

It did **** up the balance of the sound in the car quite a bit, especially considering they all faced to the back of the car as well, but I couldn't put them anywhere else, as there is very little space to work with in a clio interior. I was considering rebuilding the boxes and trying to house them under the front seats, but never actually got round to doing it before I sold the car.

very bad Clio's to place speakers, unless you mess about cuttign into the side panels.

You have the two speakers at the front, which are really small, you have two little places at back, which dont have any speakers there standard, and again only very small space to work with.

But I just replaced the front standard speakers with cheapish more powerful ones and placed a sub in the boot.

I also had some Coaxial's on the back, which i got for free, and had them fitted well before I got the sub. they did sound good before the sub, but once the sub was in place, it really did show me how pointless havin gmore speakers in the back with a sub!!

Worst thing about mine, was there was something loose somewhere that I just couldn't ****ing find, and it would occasionally manage to get loose enough to vibrate when I had my music up a bit. Now, everyone knows I get ****ed off over nothing and whatever the **** it was, it really riled my **** to hear it vibrate lol.

Comps with tweeters, decent amp, decent sub (10" or 12", imo anything bigger or smaller is a waste of time) and dont buy 6x9's or power caps.

Its also all about getting the right amp to power the sub, i find it best to have a 2 channel amp for the components and then a mono amp for the sub, you only really need one sub but for two id buy a 4 channel amp and bridge the channels to power the subs.

Buying comps seriously is the best but if you cant be bothered with the wiring then just buy some coaxials, which if you get the same size, will be a straight swop with the standard speakers.

Make sure you buy good quality cable. But remember if you go for a powerful system, your going to need a heavy duty battery or another battery in your boot :P

EDIT: Oh and you'll probably need to sound deaden the boot and doors, but i wont go into that.

All depends how much power you really want.

If you want stupid power, your going to spend alot, because you will need to start messing about with changing stock earth wires (The Big 3), probably need to replace/get a second battery, use bigger more expensive wires, start sound deadening (as loz said) etc etc, cant be very pricey.

In all fairness, decent comps for the front and a decent sub/amp is fine.

For the subs and amp i reccomend Alpine.

Going for "stupid power" is exactly that, stupid. As you can see my esteemed collegue Mr. Skyline has already tried to put you off that idea by describing the work involved.

We can't really tell you exactly what car to buy, you have to just take a look around (autotrader.co.uk is a good start) see what cars you like the look of, go out, veiw them, have someone test drive it if possible. My girlfriends dad is an ex-military mechanic so I had the good fortune of having him come along with me. You could try and find a friend, or a friend of a friend doing a mechanics course, or an actual mechanic and see if they will help you out. If you like the car, and it runs ok, then buy it.

For your first car, ****ing with the sound system is a good start. It gives you something to learn, as you can mod the interior a bit and see the work involved etc. The standard sound system in the corsa's is actually quite nice, My parents have owned a 97, and 03 corsa and I have driven both, and they both sounded quite nice standard, not awesome, but nice. Wiring up an amp and sub is a good start, and then getting the cables tidy, and everything tuned the way you want it should take you a day or so, although Im not sure how hard it is to get the cables around in a corsa.

I needed to sound deaden my old Saxo and I wasn't running anything massive.

Depends what car it is, Saxo's are awful for rattles.
My Clio used to rattle, could hear it from the outside coming from the boot area

This is what i did....

I passed my test last friday, then i started looking at cars so i bought this :

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1997-CORSA-1-...ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting

Engine : 1.2L, it has black alloys , a sports exhaust and a spoiler.

I payed £850 for the car which is pretty decent, and im paying 1400 insurance easy plan ( so i payed 320 deposit and im paying 126 a month for 10months).

Get a small car, not too much modifications and a petrol imo they are better.
