Iphone Abroad

Well I'm going to Malia a week today, and was wondering if I take my Iphone with me, What charges could I face.

Im not assed about using Internet etc, I only want it for the music really.

Im on 02, and its the Iphone 3G.

Any info will be great

i want to know the same, flying to turkey on tuseday ive heard recently people have been getting hudge bill's for using there phones abroad

I haven't yet got an IPhone but just keep your 3G turned off and bobs ur uncle???

If you just want it for the music just keep it in flight mode.. Can't even text or call any1 in flight mode, (well- cant on most phones).

ring o2 up, you pay like £3 and get texts for like 25p and calls 80p p/m, look on o2 site for details, doesn't matter what phone you have its just the network.

Data Roaming is disabled by default on iPhones so you should be safe from that. Double check in Settings -> General -> Network.

Calls and Texts would cost the same as any other phone on Roaming.

Just turn airplane mode on. You can even use Wi-Fi I think. (I just turned the phone off with SBSettings so i'm not really sure about Airplane mode - should be able to)

As mentioned, make sure any roaming is turned off so your phone isnt constantly syncing... Should be fine.

I used my iPhone to check Facebook for a laugh when I arrived at New York.

My credit went insta-£0. Was funny...


Did get a nice text off o2 though saying welcome to America.
