Should of used my idea of having mining nodes instead. This would eliminate the afk miner issue, allow them to uplift the 3 client limit and give mining a new edge.

Or just have a mini-quest occur randomly when you get a piece of Ore...?
For example a text box comes up saying:
"You hit the wall and a ruby jewel comes out, you attempt to grab it but it runs off!
Consumed by greed, you run after it...
It dives into a portal and after following it, you've been transported to a mysterious land."
/tele's you to 1 of 5 different random mini-games where you have to kill a mob or solve a puzzle or something dumb. Really simple to do, just actually requires you to be at your pc.
Basically, do what runescape did. These mini-events A) take a small amount of time to do but reward you for it (bit of gold, a random useful item or something along these lines) B) forces the player to complete the event. TT's disabled/removed. Logging out means you log back in there. Basically, to get out, YOU have to do the event.
This means miners who legitimately want to earn money mining, have to do it themselves at least be over-looking their miner on another PC/Window. To do this on more than 1 PC would be far more time-consuming and thus people would start ditching these multi-miner macro's. AFKing would mean you'd eventually just be stuck in one of these event rooms.
Also means the miner actually makes the profit. Not the macro's. Requires a tiny bit of work from admins point of view but this would solve your problems in the long-run for every server that intends to run these files.
firstly, don't think anyone mines for gold as its ****. prob take an hr to earn 50k
second, they are ore not jewels and they cant run :P
third, wont solve any person from creating a macro
Although it seems it can be a possible way, however, I personally wouldn't implement that idea.
just leave it how its meant to be. its bad enough mining as it is. so tell me, when fishing gets ingame, people cant go afk fishing either? What is the real problem here?
If this team actually wastes valuable coding time to actually implement fishing.
I will loose all hope for this game.
I mean what is the thought pattern for fishing?
- "Oh we have 5 coders and a few weeks, what shall we do?"
"Let invent fishing...its just like mining, but with a rod over water"
"Yeah cool idea, Everyone really enjoys mining, **** the new Boss AI's/spells/balance fixs/territory control system"
Lets bring a really boring real world sport, into a MMORPG, so people can do it and be just as bored as they are irl doing it.
Game designers need a serious bullet to the face when they think of **** like that. *cough* Ruby developers *cough*
Blah blah blah(deleted all the crap you wrote as it means fk all to me)

Work is for people who don't know how to fish. Mining and fishing are both part of the stupid development called giving players something for nothing. Who would refuse the option to make some game gold whilst watching a film, walking the dog, putting the kids to bed. Come back to mir hours later and hey presto you made a million or more. What kind of gameplay is that? Just take it out. OR if you insist on keeping it make miners drop everything from bag after one hit and up the mob count and rs time in the mines.Fishing irl isn't boring it's relaxing. Or is this a sign that I'm getting old???

Yes, your getting old, and from your recent facebook pictures, Fat aswell.
Mans should stop fishing and start jogging.
:-P

Then why are people mining?

You've missed the point entirely.
third, wont solve any person from creating a macro
...Yes, it will? you can't Macro your way out of an event that requires human interaction lol.

Capping gems n orbs was ok? Changing what can be in slots? Changing the bosses. That's all development. But taking out something which allows people to be afk disadvantages new players. You say higher levels and wiz will benefit most, simple answer, make the ores not trade able or droppable. Dropping ores from bag is good. If u aren't afk then it wont happen. It's low level miners that are the problem. What's mir without risk?Removing mining all together or even changing it as people have said would be unfair on the newer players, as the veteran players have already taken advantage of the current system so removing it would only penalize the new players giving them no hope to catch up(if they put in the effort or not).
I think mining should be kept how it is now just with the added GM patrols handing out warning/bans or just DC them from the server.
Or you could just stop this multiclients on 1 pc, and lock it down so you are only able to run 1 client per pc.
