I heard it was 40-60mb from BT although I did hear awhile back it's going to be upto 100mb, I've just signed up with BT and was told the FTTC line's will be installed by the end of this year (in my area).

BT are the only company that will be able to offer speeds of 2mb+ on uploads, virgin need to upgrade their core in order to offer uploads anywhere near this.

I read up somewhere that BT will be sharing their FTTC with other companys but then I got told no they arn't so I'm sort of confused with that. Also I'm not sure if it's true but Sky will be offering their internet through the dish (I personally think it's aload of bull) in the future.

Wrong. Entanet offer 10meg up via FTTC.

Also Virgin will offer 10meg up by xmas to home users.

Bla bla bla, fibre lines, bla bla bla.

They only go to the exchange, your lines are still copper.
