Allow some sort of response from players. Shutting every single thread will result in a spam of forum threads. It seems really harsh that a valued character has been banned indirectly as a result of an offensive Alt.
Griefing is bannable so why don't you go clear the noobs from mudwall and see some high level players disappear? They'd absolutely lose their ****.

Quite regularly i hunt in OmaLair and at certain times of day you will see a white dot on your mini-map, indicating a player is nearby. When you run to them, they random teleport before you even see their name. Now - this happening once or twice may just be down to them being a very evasive player. But, when you see this happen 10 to 20 times in 1 hour, you know for a fact that it is a bot that is evading you.
This **** happens, and it seems is allowed on Mir Chronicles.
But a joke shout in town? Ban with no warning. Hell, even cheaters got warnings. But something chat related is an immediate ban? Ridiculous.
The fact that the threads just get closed instead of a GM responding to the thread (in my case - clarifying the rules) is also quite ridiculous.

So why not rethink his hasty action and unban the account, and he wont have to.
Its quite clear it was a rash decision... Its the internet, he could spend every waking second of his life trying to censor it, and will fail. Where does he stop?

you hav enot listened to what BH said. the guy was running around asking people to join ISIS that is something he shouldnt really be doing.
on the other hand some consistency needs to be added to the way things are handled. lots of names in the game that are very pffensive in the right situation.

Clearly it was a joke, a distasteful one to some, but still a joke.

To be honest I think it's well deserved.
Any scum bag willing to support such things even as a joke, is in my eyes worth every punishment he gets.

I find it extremely hard to believe (I'm sure BH did too, hence the ban), that throughout the process of making this character, they didn't think about it one bit? There's a joke, where it can be humerous or insulting....then there's this, where it's damn right disrespectful and outrageous. I think an unbanning of the account but banning of the character would have been an alright thing to do. Obviously these threads are now just fueled from the hatred of locked threads and differentiating opinions.
I'll give my 2cents on it. As you lot know I made a character called AdolfCritler. I found it humorous and so did many others. I got by fine, perhaps making a few hitler jokes along the way but again, no offense taken.
It happened a long time ago. Hitler's just as much as a **** as ISIS, but because ISIS is constantly talked about and pushed onto us by the media as of late, people are upset by it more. Even if they aren't in any way effected, people are more upset because not enough time has passed for a joke to be made.
Did mampi do something stupid? yes. Has he gone about this the wrong way? yes. But should his main character be banned for a stupid troll joke on another character? In my opinion, no.

I have friends who were constantly harassed with racist remarks since the server came up by a certain individual and he was never punished for it, nor warned. If you're going to take a FIRM stance on things (which is great) such as this now then publicy state so and give people a final warning. Then there can be absolutely no argument and no controversy.

Nor should he, I fully condone what he's done. It's one step to make a joke say in guild chat or amongst friends, to make a character called "JihadJohn" and to say recruiting for ISIS is a new level completely, because you WILL offend someone, it's like going into a town and shouting it that's effectively what you did. You pissed off people, yeah you may of got a few laughs here and there, great job. Ultimately though there are people scowling and you and probably want to kick a few bells into you, why? Because that's the way the world works. This person isn't a paid comedian, nor did anyone pay to see his "stand-up".
