Lagging Bad

On my server when I start it up, it loads fine, but the m2server takes ages, and when i do actually get ingame it lags like hell, and after a while it says the system is low on virtual memory, is there any way I can get around this, or do I need a better comp?

well you can reduce the amount of mobs spawn in your server, take away un nessery maps, or get more ram into your comp :P

You wouldnt be able to run a full server i can tell that much

I assume your trying to play the server on the same machine as the server is running on? - This isn't a good idea and is bound to lag because of memory usage. Im sure your machine by itself is more than capable for hosting the server - if you doubt the fact post your system specs here and I'll confirm it.

the thing is i only wanted to run it offline so i cud edit it, but my sistem specs r crap

AMD Athlon XP 2200 + (1.8 Ghz)
256mb DDR Ram
40GB HDD

lol i no its crap but as I said I only want to edit it offline.

personally if u only want to host offline you are gonna want to host and play on that computer unless you have a network.

I would suggest getting a ram upgrade http://www.crucial.com/ go on their and enter your PC details it will give you the best ram for you. Then search the internet for better bargains cos crucial are uber over priced
