Spoke to someone at Wemade yesterday and advised them that someone is using the name "Legend of Mir" as there Trade mark and the guy I spoke with was very shocked. Though he did say, they may own the trade mark. But the files are copywritten to Wemade internationaly and that they will take action against this person if it proves to be correct.
And he lives in a council estate/Flat OR next to one.... in a medium sized house???? I think you liez.

lol laptard is a complete nub... and as for he owns what ever lol? i fort euro mir / wemade ent ... they dont own or have copyright on NO server files.. they own the image's....? hence why any mir server cant be pay to play and any 1 can get copyright to there server files. but not to any of the above 2.3+ images.... ?? correct ????

The emulated files are not the property of Wemade, as these have been created to get P/Servers to work for Mir. Wemade though own the content of the files IE: Maps, images Etc, Etc.
Lapta only owns the Trade Mark "legend of Mir" and nothing more and nothing less. You can open a server and call it "legend of Mir whatever" and there would be nothing Lapta could do cause your not using the trade mark as a single thing. Look at WWE and WWF - They only won under the WWF and nothing more and WWE could have left this as "world wrestleing Federation"

The names a waste of money, he can't shut a server down with it. He's simply hoping the hosting company will buy it. If the server company looked at the spelling and punctuation of the email they'd know he's a complete retard.
I almost feel like writing and sending his hosting company some information on why it is not a legal server at all. Lets hope Wemade screw him over.

i agree. admins let him advertise here because the rules about donations got changed, and he was bringing in members.
but if hes going around attempting to shut other peoples servers down he shld def be removed.
@mapa - i could be wrong but i thought wemade still owned the actual server files? since its their coding. anything thats been modified would ofcourse not be theirs, but since hes using their server files, which havnt been coded from scratch, id have thought that wld b wemades property too.

Wemade own the original code for the server, so yes from that they can do somthing.
The Emulators, they can't do anything about. As they have not codded them or own the source for them.
With the code, it falls under a catch 22 and anyone who knows what they are doing can in theory challange Wemade over this. Though this would have to be done by the original creator of the modded code.
As for the trade mark, he can be done under plagerism for it. If he is advertising a "Legend of Mir" server and using images and other things that show he is running a Wemade Mir server, without their prior permision. They can sue the arse off him, if however he was using the trade mark "the legend of mir" but had nothing to do with Wemade and was about the Mir space station, then nothing can be done.
He's a grade A twat, that thinks he's above the law. Hopefully Wemade do somthing about him, as it's time the lying little toe rag got some of his own just desert.
Its a shame someone feels they have to do that. In 2004 I had a similar complaint made but my hosting company realised it was unactionable and I've been with them since.
Back in the day when Game Network formed into Game Media Network I was advised by their Online Division Manager to shut down www.thelegendofmir.com or follow legal action but not once did they tell me to take down the server itself.
I told them to give me my banned character back on euro and ill think about shutting the site down. - They didnt reply.
Call the bluff and if your dedi company tell you to leave putting negative things about them on your forum often gets their attention :P

He's trying to quote some random law case from god knows when which probably has little or no relevance but is making a meal out of it. You don't have a legal obligation in accordance with a law case LOL you have a legal obligation with an Act.
That's basically what I call an epic fail of trying to sound intelligent when in reality you are quite the opposite.
