Building machines is pretty much like mecano.

Certain components can only fit in certain places. DOnt force anything in that doesn't feel right. Take your time, assess the slots and cables.

Do you have another pc around whilst you do it? Might be worth using it if so to google things if you get stuck.

Ok everything is connected correctly except the pins, I just don't understand where I've to connect them as there is so many places I could.

I have 2 USB ports on front of my tower but I don't use them as 1 is broke so I'm not going to connect them, I also have a green sound port and a mic port which I do want connected and of course the power switch and the reset switch any help i appreciated!

EDIT **

Ok I've connected all the pins that need conecting except the Power LED on my old mother board there were 3 pins for this (as the socket obviously has 3) but on this motherboard theres only 2 pins for the socket I was thinking about just connecting the socket to the 2 that I can and leave 1 part un-connected but I don't know if that would **** me up, so does anyone know? Do I need the Power LED?

You dont need the power LED im suprised there isnt enough pins on the board as i stated before make sure you read the motherboard manual it will tell you exactly where to put everything from mic and headphones to usb and all your power buttons/LEDS

Ok I tried to run the computer for the first time and I got to the windows log on screen yay, but now I've found that my Rear USBs don't work (I think there is no power going to them) I found a slow on the motherboard that sas USBPWR_R which I assume is USB Power Rear now there is nothing connected to that slot and I can't find a plug that would fit should it defo be there? any suggestions?

Ok I asked around a few mates and one says he thinks I need to format which I don't really want to do, as my windows will be used to a different hardware profile?

And another is saying I should try get a lend of a PS2 keyboard and use that to get drvers for my keyboard and mouse and it should work.

What do you guy think?

ah, if you've changed the motherboard, but not the harddrive, then that cld be why. if you goto device manager and uninstall the usb drivers, after a restart they shld get recognised and work.

also, if your on xp, i dont think xp minds that much to a new hardware id. iv used my xp cd on many computers and they've all registered fine.

So my best bet would be to get a lend of a PS2 keyboard because I can't do what you have said atm as my keyboard doesnt work on windows but it works on boot up, would formatting also fix the problem? As I'm thinking about just formatting its a fresh new start

Well if you have an old pc case, monitor, hdd and psu laying about this is what i upgraded my little bros pc to for WOW

http://www.saverstore.com/productinfo/product.aspx?d=1&product_id=20034511&rw=y

Very good value for money as the CPU alone costs around 50-70 quid.

The on board graphics are fine for wow infact it runs better than my 256mb gfx card.

If your gonna go ahead with a laptop make sure you fully look into reviews about the laptop first as we all know wow will over heat a rubbish laptop after a short time.

Also stear clear of AMD cpu`s they are not what they used to be!

Good luck let us know what you get :)

I bought this last night as it was to cheap to pass up. i also bought the Samsung Spinpoint F1 320GB 7200rpm 16MB cache 3.5, the size of the HDD doesnt really bother me to much the 16MB cache wasnt much of a let down either for £30. im really chuffed with what iv purchased and for the price, im hoping all goes well if so im gunna be really chuffed!

Thanks a bunch mate, I will get downloading this windows 7 is there a specific one download you recommend?

i also wouldnt mind a copy of windows 7 if you are able to post a link or pm it to me please, if you still have the crack to share i would love you long time!

Don't worry you should have no problems at all! I think I might order that hard drive aswell just now, I'm in need of a new one the one I have is 4 years old lol.

I downloaded Windows 7 last night, although I have no blank DVDs just now to burn the image on but heres the one I downloaded it also has an activation thing in it so you can also update your windows 7. ( http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5182426/Microsoft_Windows_7_Ultimate_Retail(Final)_x86_and_x64 )

note : I just went through uTorrent and cancelled the 64 bit one as I don't need it.
