In 2007/09 Ronaldo did score 42 in all competitions.

But only 31 in the Prem.

Rooney has scored 40 so far, in all competitions.

Looking at the stats for Ronaldo in 08/09 for man Utd

Prem -
33 Games
18 Goals
6 Assists

Rooney this season in the Prem
29 Games
26 Goals
3 Assists

Who's record is the best?

Top scorer charts so far:
1 Wayne Rooney Man Utd 26
2 Didier Drogba Chelsea 25
3 Darren Bent Sunderland 22

I think Rooney has a good chance of been the top scorer if he gets fit soon. If not it will simply be because he's injured.

So... After Rooney winning player of the year award, Drogba goes on to leading his team to win the double (Fa Cup n Prem) - Finished top goal scorer and your gunna tell me Rooney was injured, Didnt Drogba miss 4/5 games through African Nations? and how many penalties did Rooney score? bareing in mind Lampard takes Chelsea. So all in all, other than Rooneys 2 goals at the San Siro (which were simply top class) Drogba has had a much better season.

Man u have won player of year award last 4 year running, total bullsh1t

They're two totally different players though.

Drogba is an out and out striker, Rooney is more of a foward, not a striker.

I think both players are brilliant and in the same team would walk the league. But I'd still rather have Rooney.

Penalties are goals, doesn't matter how they're scored, a goals a goal.
You sound like our old retarded chairman "McClean can only score tap ins and penalties, and they don;t count" (Not saying you are retarded btw)

Edit:
Just thought I'd share this with you all too.
