The damage is already done, no amount of changes will rectify the huge gulf between classes and levels now.
Sc always scaled differently to mc/dc and element was supposed to bring this in line with the other classes attack power. It's the reason you couldn't stack element on items or with hermit. Mc/dc items always had higher stats than sc. they were simply a weaker multiplier, it's why Taos have element stats on all weapons above lvl 33. High single target damage till aoe pet explosion.
At best with a well refined weapon you could end up with element 15-25. not being able to master refine element, with another +9 from numa rusted items. That was considered op at lvl 53 till the lvl 65 kits when low end sc became more important. On zircon it's easy to have 30-90 element.
hemit was limited to sc 1-2 lvl 40-50 then 1-3 if I remember
Dc/mc was 1-3 lvl 40-50 then raised accordinly
Element was random on hermit and and couldn't be stacked and was only 1-2
Sc would effect more than just spell duration like it does on zircon. It would effect the amount of healing, the amount of hp pets are summoned with. This has been proven and tested on every official going back to mir2.
Pets should level! giving the Taoist different ways to play rather than just explode everything. Was this not the reason you would spend 20mins lvling a pet or buy the pet scroll from gameshop. On Korean official they introduced talismans that would summon pet instantly to lvl 7, could cast green poison and resurrect. pet able to tank in caves and take agro in groups. illusion/phantom for pet melee damage, explosion.
This is a very important mechanic for the higher end caves when given the pets current hp pool you wouldnt even be able to cast explosion because of the cool down. In the higher caves lvl 65+ mobs easily hit for 400-500 any more than 2 mobs pets dead in sconds. How was this addressed by Jamie give the pets adv to everything.
Will be interesting to see how he addresses new problems later with the introduction of new skills and caves. Is dragon abyss in game yet ? Because that was a really nice cave for melee and Taos to catch up on wizards.
One of the things that really annoyed me was how he would always nerf a cave to make it easier for classes to lvl in. Imo it kinda defeated the point might as well make omas give 100k per mob
