loopback is my problem i think

i think my problems to do with loopback i know kaori came up with a solution around this i dont quite understand what she means by the way she said it

you don't need to use loopback...

you can try...
if your IP is pretty static...
in your tcpip setting of the normal nic.
you have something like...
192.168.1.2
255.255.255.0
192.168.1.1

then goto advance, you can add another IP under
IP addresses
192.168.1.2
90.194.186.123 (example)

keep gateway the same 192.168.1.1

on the other computer do the same thing...
192.168.1.3
90.194.186.124

now your lan computer should be able to communicate with your server with 90.194.186.123

CHANGED ITS NOT LOOPBACK AS IT WONT AFFECT ME AS IM NOT TRYING TO PLAY THE SERVER OVER LAN I CONNECT ON A DIFFERENT NET CONNECTION WHICH MEANS IF I CANT CONNECT NOBODY CAN ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED


also the host of the machines not at mine i can remote it tho and i cannot connect to the server from my net connect i get as far as the char select screen then after that i get a error its done the same for me on windows server 2003 and xp pro now

are you using a router for the line your server machine is on? have you got the ports allowed on your firewall and forwarded on your router if your using one?

yes i got a router which ports do i need to forward then

ports 3000, 7000, 7010, 7100, 7201 & 7202 i believe, not sure though as it might be different with king.

No a DMZ means that all trafic would be forward to the IP you specify, this would include all the crap from the internet that is not required.

And any other machine on the same network, wouldn't get any internet traffic.

lol isnt that much work, once its set up wont have to do it again unless you change the router lol
