We have hourly backups of the server
It would be unfair on the players who did not take advantage of this to rewind the server.
Why should we punish them for the actions of a few.

well when some people get a considerable advantage yes i mean considerate how do you know how much money these people have made anything ingame is for sale ofr a price, these people with 20 mill (for example) can buy any skill book now or buy any items bene et, and people who didnt take advantage of this are fuked over.
now if some people have been doing it for say 10 hours thats a hell of a lot of money and the economy is fuked.
anyway looks like the exploiters get away with it again, nothing is done about it, for the people who miss out. same happened at least 3 times now, why isnt the server backed up daily because it need to be !

Umm that's totally illogical, unfair on the ones who didn't take advantage? How about the other way round. The people who exploited gain millions, while the ones who didn't gain nothing apart from being outbid on all decent items that come up for sale in the near future.

I respect you for taking the blame.. But if you back it up hourly, then why not rewind just a few hours to when you made the changes?
make it double exp weekend and rewind the only people who dont want a rewind are the people who have gained millions from it, even people who have had items have said rewind,

In my opinion, no matter what you do, people will be pissed off, and if you think through the two options.
1:rewind the server and guarantee that all people exploiting your mistake do not gain from it.
2:change drop files back and look through the logs yourself, removing gold/items/luck gained by people during the mistake.
Option 1 would piss less people off, option 2 depends on people trusting you to remove stuff, I don't think the community's trust in you guys is that high right now after the whole denial of the shadow step incident.

I am a tao and made 500k in 1 hour, I am the slowest levelling class and witnessed people killing 4-5 times faster than me, ST was giving 2-3 mil an hour for quite a few people.
This will screw the economy, ruin the game. a rewind sets things straight and an exp boost weekend gives back to everyone that levelled.
A handful of cheats nearly killed this server,
A handful of people that can now effect the economy of this server are ok?
This has far wider repercussions than a days levelling or an item drop that was gained.
If memory serves me right there was a gold exploit in SW in euro mir, buy from shop and sell back for more gold than you buy. The server was rewound as not just those that exploited benefitted. In 1 day the volume of gold being used destroyed the TM. It has already been seen with 4 pages of benes being brought at no regard to cost. Prices of things remain high as the few that now have bulging pockets keep pries inflated and in turn keep most others off anything they want, delaying most ligate players an advancement in spells or items (causing more people to leave)
You could compensate by increasing these rare drops so the market place is flooded and the huge gold vaults do not in turn add an unfair advantage again as a solution this may work or may not as everything is available to all for zero effort. Meaning you just need gold for pots.
Now thanks to an error 1 of the 2days some of us are not at work means the server offine..... and told when it up a sry I fcked up makes it all ok (no offence BH we all make mistake's and peace for the fronting it immediately) this really isn't just a sry my bad moment.
Still not my server I just log in and play. My 2 pence aint worth a ****!

It seems to me that you know exactly what mistake you made, so therefor you must know exactly when you made this mistake. You must rewind to ensure its fair for all players. Otherwise you run the risk of showing favouritism. Don't forget people who didn't exploit it will also benefit if their item has been baught with exploited gold.
So you will have 3 groups of players now:
1. Direct exploiters
2. Benefited non exploiters
3. The truly pissed players who didn't benefit 1 single gold, im in this group and will quit this server if no rewind

spent most of afternoon in ST its fast exp for a wizz with frogs....got lvl 43 (gz me) ..so prob spent 4 hours + there ...Gms check my account activity..am i rich no..i have 1.5m and only coz ive sold an easter medallion....if some guys have spent 10 hours collecting mass drop cash and made 5-10m big ****ing deal..hardly game changing...ppl who call for a rewind so fast need to question there own motives! Bh well done on hard work you and other GMs put in ..theres bound to be hiccups.. move forward not back imo
I love how people are telling the server admins what they HAVE to do. Don't like it go away and play another servers/games like the other 60% of the missing user count.
