all this stuff about orbs adding variety to the game is just bollox, after a few months everyone (that play hard core (and yes there are lots of us)) will have the max plus stats on most of there items.

orbs where just wemade being lazy. get rid of orbs and add 3-6 different items for each item slot and each class.

i always thought you where made to go in a certain direction once you got to level 35 with stats. the only real variety was gems/orbs otherwise you had no choice.

ATM;-
-Wizard - thunderring or an item with worse stats ie violetring
-Warrior - boundlessring """
-Taoist - taegukring ""
^^^ all top end damage stats.
and after them levels its still the same with foxitems, just no variety.

why not give us a choice?

have orbs actualy been removed? i think its a stupid thing to do, the cap is at +3 and its not hard to get an item to +3! so whats the big deal if orbs are left ingame? the only thing your going to do is remove a chance at getting an exciting drop... cool way to nerf drop aswell!


again theres been a change nobody has moaned about, check the old forum was there a post about orbs needing to be removed? i only recall people moaing about added stats and that was mostly due to the pre +3 limit change!

remember how the casting speed change went? how nobody moaned about it and it got changed? took afew hours to reverted?

Why does no orbs mean no ones going to be adding extra stats? Not sure if you know about things called gems?

This is why I made point nr 3 on a previous post. Life will teach you eventually that sometimes is better not to say things that are nothing more then words because it will cause unwanted discussions and you gain nothing good out of it. If you really want something (and you are a Dev) implemented the way you like it you simply put it in server details or make a Poll like in the past and see what the majority of people like.

The key to the statement you are referring to is "end game items." This would include items such as heaven armors, lvl 40 and lvl 44 weps and then high level jewlery as well. They mentioned they are nerfing gems chance of working so it will be even less likely people will gem much on end game items. Which essentially leads to people not adding extra stats, and if they do then they would be lucky to get 1.

I would imagine they have higher lvl items planned for there new server.

I don't understand while so many people are arguing over this lol, the dev team allready know the pros and cons of Orbs being ingame or not and nothing anyone can say is going to impact on there decision, so why bother.
Either outcome.. there will be people upset, so argue after the fact and not beffore

Orbs are fine as long as they remain stupidly rare, thus cost a lot to get your hands on them. This is fine and is a good gold sink for those who get pretty rich and can also help new players by finding orbs from say, a WT and selling it.

Gems should be the main point of adding stats though. The risk/reward style suits Mir more.

Never add dura orbs. Never add PR or MR orbs. These "lesser" orbs are actually bad to have as they diminish the normal orbs rarity/value/point and make gems kind of pointless.

Besides that, server looking awesome. Can't wait to try it.

Boredom, something to do while waiting for launch. Besides a bit of forum bull/s has always been part of mir.
If we didnt post our shyte there would be sod all to read! Whats the point of the forum if your just gonna post a few announcements, facebook woulda served that purpose.
The developers need a bit of nipple twisting, it keeps em on their toes!

Orbs should stay out of game OR tweaked, so that when you use an orb it would lock the item from further upgrade (so you'd have to choose wisely). With that said, i don't think Gems should be used on anything BUT jewellery. Heres how i think the upgrade system should be like...

Gems
Why allow gems to upgrade anything but Jewellery?

- Rings
- Bracelets
- Necklaces

Crafting
Lets face it, this needs to be ingame...Split up the choices and ability to upgrade your clothes

-Armour
-Helmet
-Shoes
-Belt

Refining
This should be upgraded and tweaked, material cost and stat choice should be more variant and successful, maybe base it on a level system? (with less wait time)

-Weapons

Refining itself has been discarded by the use of Gems, it sucks and has created a lazy care bear society (of which consists on moaning about things being changed for the better!). Armour crafting has been an idea i've been toying with for a few years (started with NPC scripts), but the possibilities with little thought could create a new innovative way of designing / upgrading the clothes you wear ingame. Gems, well .. its in the name "Gems" ...they should only ever been used for jewellery, after all...they are called Gems...

Again , with these new implemented and seperated upgrade opportunities , new stats could be used... Like Resistance, Hit Chance, etc ... ofc this will all need balancing but thats what game development is about, its about removing the old and bringing in the new... None of this guideline **** from shanda.

I like this idea, since Gems were added to mir refining seems to have taken a back seat and crafting has never seemed any real use on any of the servers i've played. It would be good to have them all working alongside each other for a change.

I've always sucked at refining myself, but i agree it should be the main way of upgrading a weapon.

not much detail but acem2 was very poor in this department, seemed impossible to get any consistent results. Soo, with the adjustments mayb it will at least be a viable route again besides sockets n orbs.

As far as i was aware, The refinement code was simply random with some reduced top end chance added when various criteria were met.

how is gemming carebear lol? you can gem a wep to +3 and you can refine upto +20????

gemming weps is fine , keeps the market place strong - anyone serious about adding good stats to a wep would gem then refine anyway.

gemming makes people mine and lets some of the people who dont like to boss ( the carebears ) earn some cash.

That was good old days not on Acem2, did anyone get past +2?! i didnt once get more than +1 and a "recipe" never worked more than once either, so even my +1's were luck. there needs to be some consistency there, like on euro.
