Re: ADM Mir

Sorry i might of missed this...

Whats the server/client coded in?
Did you code it from scratch or just add to the released source codes?

Good work though

you can move the chat box anywhere you want (or even close it) same with the whole interface

offtopic yep him up there with the funny face name broke the laptop again

BH
nowhere to move it really... it just sticks out and looks gay, gets in the way imo. and i wouldnt close it tbh... altho huntin id have to as i couldnt stand it stickin out like that and gettin in the way :P

i think some of the interfaces u get with ledu r pretty good, there all kinda neatly put into place, no bits stickin out loads etc....

but personally i like his 1st interface, looks best ;)

Re: ADM Mir

Because the already released source smells probably. Plus ADM will know how everything works.

EDIT : Ahh, UniTY and YKW coding in C++, dunno about ADM sorry.

Re: ADM Mir

i think the reason the released source isnt used is because its so messy, incomplete, and buggy. it would be easier to rewrite the whole thing than to fix the errors in it.

Re: ADM Mir

Currently the server is coded in .NET and the client is coded in VB6 (Might convert to C# later on).

Starting from scratch allowed me to redo the engine the way I want it. Also my engine is significantly more advanced than Mir2/Mir3 clients - allowing me to render certain aspects faster, aswell as the ability to use full 32 bit colour.

Any tips on how to start the engine from scratch? im kind of new to the whole programming thing, sorry if im spamming your thread but it does look very intresting

Re: ADM Mir

I love when people say they might convert to a different language in the future to avoid vb6 bashing. rofl. You know for a fact you won't convert it so why say it? :tongue1:

Avoid VB6 bashing? VB6 is a very good language, and can do just as much as any other high-level language can do (within reason), with the power of APIs.

Don't assume you know what I'm thinking. I suggested that I might convert due to the enhanced socket control gained with the native .NET environment.

Honestly I love vb, but I see this all the time.. no one ever goes throught with it. I will hold my ground to what I said I think you said it to avoid the 'bashing'.
