TrueADM said:Don't worry - I've made a new cursor, and the Mir3 GUI is final now. So far no problems with the GUI and the system for making accounts/players works perfectly with the server (accessed ingame).
Best thing is - my client runs nearly 2x faster than any other Mir client (currently) available, even though I'm using 32 bit colour.
This is the last update for a few weeks - next update *should* have a fully functional game structure in place.

Doesn't use will's as well, what about .map files?
Thanks for any info, nice work.
TrueADM said:It doesn't use wil files, it uses raw BMP files which are stored in sequential folders. Also it uses current Mir map files. I'm planning to make my own NPC system - along with a NPC editor for server side use. All context will be fully English.
As for the GUI, I'll take the best parts from all resources given to me. Don't worry - you can easily edit the GUI if you don't like the current one.
UniTY said:Wouldn't that cause hell for disk fragmenting, updates causing images to be written in other locations on the disk, making a considerable amount of seek time? Wil's have thousands of images in a library.
Also imagine, each small image may only take a few kbytes of space, but on most hard disks thats 4k each file -- even if the image itself is only 1.2k (a 24bit bmp file of a potion). A proper library wouldn't lose 1k here, 2k there, because it is one large file on the disk.
