Mir1.4 - Mir1-9

Hi,

Iv'e Been working on a 1.4 server for some time now, and iv'e been thinking what for? Am i going to get as many players as some of the 1.9 servers will, once its public will people bother to come and play it when they can have more ore less everything working on a 1.9 server,

So I decided to take a look at the 1.9 section, downloaded the (Newbie) Foundation Files because i have no idea about 1.9 server setups, Setup the DB installed a 1.9 client, got into game and then it hit me....... What the hell do i do now! Iv'e no idea on how to get these weapons to look like they should, these spells to show how they should, I just have no idea at all, i try to look at some of the programs on the 1.5 section but it all just confuses me.... What im asking is...........

1. Shall I carry on working on a 1.4 where i know a great deal about and can pretty much do anything, if i do carry on it will have alot of ideas implemented and for 1.4 vet's they would enjoy it very much
2. Scrap the 1.4 because nobody will be interested and look into building my knowledge on a 1.9 server where when DestinyAO and servers like that get released, no1 will bother playing other 1.9 server's because to be honest, I have no idea at the moment, to build knowledge like the destiny team have, well it would take years.


I do believe that i will get players on a 1.4 server, not just ones that are put up today that haven't really had any thought put into them at all, this will have.

my server is 1.4 and i have 20+ ppl online

for the 1000 time
there is no differance (apart from the reg server) between the 1.4 and 1.9 files
the setup is the same the DBs are the same the mapinfo is the same everything is the same as 1.4

If you know how to do everything on a 1.4 server you can do the same things on a 1.9 server

The only differance between the 1.4 and 1.9 files is that the 1.9 files are update 1.4 files
updated as in new npc commands/new gm commands in short they are 1.4 files updated

everything that is in the 1.4 files are in the 1.9 files
you can run your server as it is at the mo on the 1.9 files just use your envir folder

1.9 is better tho some think 1.9 is best and some think 1.4 is best so theres a equal ammount

It isn't hard to work out things on 1.9, infact it is even easier in some points. The 1.4 files are not being updated, but the emulator files ARE, therefore you will have a lot more stuff with the 1.9 files rather than just the old fashioned 1.4
