Mir2 Chat Fix?

I Have a problem that has been plaguein me for ages, and im wondering if a fix has been found yet for it.

I use Windows8.1 and on SOME mir2 servers when i type i cannot see what im typing. The only time that i can see what ive typed is wen i press enter.

If there is any news for this problem, pls let me know. I dont have the luxury of reversing my windows. Would be cool just for the sake of playing mir going back to XP though if i could.

I tried changing image backgrounds etc. but nothing helped.
I've subsequently been told its a DirectX issue so its possibly not fixable.

Is it possible to run a virtual Machine as XP and run Mir in that ?
Might work ??

I thought there was a fix but it had to be coded into the client?

Ive tried several fixes in ruby. Got it better (but not perfect) and it had an fps cost.

Like ardberg im also convinced its a case of win 8 and dx7 which doesnt mix
