My current opinion...

Just a short note to tell you how I feel about what's gone on with this graphics section and why it has died such a horrific death...

Well, I've recently noticed alot less people posting their work in this section and even leaving comments on what little does get posted, I believe this is down to introducing a "Graphics Design Mod", although I have nothing against the selected person. I myself believe that because of this, a few people got annoyed because they themselves weren't selected.
I can't actually see the point in a mod for this section either mainly because of the fact "WHAT HAS IT ACHIEVED". Introducing a mod hasn't actually done anything for the good of this section, if anything it has made it less popular.

Sorry if I'm completely wrong and annoyed anyone. I just thought I'd say anyway.

The reason is isn't as popular as it was is because there is never any
competitions or involvement by the mod when we had pix as a mod there were competitions and tutorials and **** like that, people just cba now because there's no fun in it now.
Anyway about the design, i quite like it although it seems a little rough on the blue part like it has lost quality, What did you make it in?

Ok i said that this part of the forum was dying a few months ago and got flamed, sorry but u've posted the same fact, but yes nothing has been done by this mod, it is really shocking, surely a mod should introduce competitions etc, can i ask who is the mod of this section? due to i hardly see it mentioned.

I'm not entirely sure who the mod is... I wasn't paying much attention when it was posted... and never have seen him/her post RECENTLY.
By the way, I have nothing aginst the current mod, he/she probably doesn't post because nobody else does.

I thought sawell was g&d mod, he does a nice job.

On the 'lighter note', nice design however the plain grey at the top ruins it, it's just a single colour.

I was the mod, but there is no point trying to get a dead fish to swim.

Most of the graphically-inclined have moved away from LOMCN, there was a time when this section was very active... but times pass.

I could have milked the forum, but it would have been detrimental and probably killed any activity. As to the OP, I think that's your personal opinion, as you probably wanted to be a SFM... I don't think that reflects the opinion of anyone else.

I don't think there needs to be a moderator in this forum, there's nothing to moderate... as for competitions, there's nothing stopping anyone doing one, if you want it stickied ask for one. This forum has always been over-staffed. That's my personal opinon though, and I run my own community to very different standards.

Don't get me wrong your probly a good mod (though i haven't seen much effort) but its 1 person, as for competitions etc, WHY should we have to ask for a competition, surely as a mod you should try to encourage others to join not just clean up spam etc.

I left this forum a while ago, my moderation position was never taken. Only recently has it been actioned.

I have my own forum and community now, and only check here to see the status of the server we sponsor. Along with running my own community I also moderate and admin other boards, and yes, I'm not in a position to help with a section that's pretty much dead. Which is why the position is being advertised. Don't give me your **** kid, i've got a lot of commitments and LOMCN quite frankly lists at the bottom. That doesn't in any way imply I've given up, more so that I'm not able to help due to how busy I am.

This section was at it's best when there were no moderators, the period just after John left.

People that aren't mods on my community have set up competitions, it's really not a hard concept. Fact of the matter is, the LOMCN community is very power mad and lazy - you guys won't lift a finger unless you get a medal for it.

Use the forum leaders function to determine members of staff. My title obviously hasn't been reset, but my username is purple... which is VIP.

If you don't want to be called a kid then don't act like one, making assumptions is a stupid idea especially when you are using them to back an argument.

I'm not a graphics designer though i love this section, though most people don't post there work anymore is because of critisism, not saying all give it but some are very harsh which dis courages people to keep posting.

They don't all want a medal it's just something to work towards because some members have been doing it for a year or two and got nothing out of it really.

I used to post my work in this section but the ratings never really said one thing you never knew if a piece was good or crap so i migrated to another g&d forum and then the only thing i cam here for was GoT but now i migrated to sawells forum which imo is alot better so basically i come here ocasionally to post or find a mir server when im really bored.

I wouldn't say dead, in my opinion it has quite a bit of potential. Alot of people do check back here quite often, although the longer it stays in a slump the less people will check. We need some way of encouraging the more talented individuals to post more work and respond to requests, maybe removing the risk of the stupid/disproportionate criticisms, e.g. where people flame due to not liking the person instead of on the standard of their work. It could be described as more of a sleeping giant, just waiting to wake up and start producing quality work again.
