I like SabukWall fights but as it is now it's pointless. Maybe make SW worth fighting for with some decent benefits for the SW holders like other servers have a cave only accessible by SW occupiers....

As much as I like the idea of having something worth fighting for, SW Caves for holders only can make things unbalanced, or if not, people will just say the cave is pointless. lol

Sw lvling areas have always been a bad idea they split the community even more, the best PvP content in mir is an area with lvling and a variety of boss's of different strengths much like bdd, areas like this create PvP scenarios, lots of guilds/grps in 1 area.

Iv always wondered how battlegrounds(like capture the flag/domination) would fair in mir, they would probably be a lot of fun, its just the user count wouldn't allow for it.

I'd love sw to be worth submitting a relic for but its difficult to find a solution which isn't game breaking.

PvP is the best thing about mir and theres so much that can be done to involve it more its great when people fight over maps but somewhere that made just for pvp with all the purks of body drops rewards boss's that each guild owns that you have to kill to take over there tower, would be awsome, gets points pur kill and use these to upgread it with guards while your trying to take over the other guilds bases, have scores and items that can only be used on the Battle map ect

problem is (and dont get me started on the 'fake' usercount here): you need a fairly decent stream of active players to get any sort of pvp.
as it stands there's nowhere near enough players that play more then 3hrs a day, so you're not gonna get much pvp out of it.
almost any attempt i seen on private servers to encourage pvp (examples:)
- last man standing
- sw rewards: be it teleport npc, sw cave, extra npc's, ...
- pure pvp based boss's (think oks etc)
...

all result in just 1 or 2 players simply chosing who wins and basicaly after a few times nobody else even shows up for them anymore.
controlled pvp is fun, has potential, ... problem is: you need a fairly decent ACTIVE usercount to get it going every single time, rather then just a handfull of ppl always getting the easy victory's

Most of us (Evo) have no interest in spending time at Sabuk for no reward.

The fact you can drop at such a volatile event annoys me (personally) even more so I have no interest.

As for the reference to GW2 WWWW its a cluster****.

personaly i think if you want to add pvp content, you should stop items from dropping in those, it's the only way you'll convince ppl who dont normaly pvp to actualy go there (which really is the only point in having pvp content).
i highly doubt you can steal gear from other players in guildwars 2's wvw, i know you cant in rift's pvp content
the idea of having someone spend x months gathering items from rare drop boss's and just losing it all cause he wanted to compete with someone who just happens to get lucky on a pvp event is outdated to the point where no mmo has even risked trying it for years now.
the main reason why sw excists is to convince ppl who normaly only do pve to actualy interact with pvpers, risk of losing gear just makes that whole situation pointless

Bingo, I'm pretty sure we would actively participate (I know I would) If you didn't have to worry about dropping in those areas (SW).

Always wonder about the usercount , seeing alot it is stalls and miners.

not just a room.

think of a map that has 20 separate building spread out all of witch you can take over by killing the boss inside. you take over the said building to gain points against the rival guilds. rewards and scoring would be the challenge

no drops at sabuk would ruin it for most ppl, what i do believe is mw should have is a teleport to outside sabuk gates though, encourages ppl to return if they die, no hassle of having to rt n run back there.

What would you say most people PvP for then? The challenge? Or to steal other peoples items after killing them?

I wouldn't expect any changes to better accommodate nicking items (this is already more harsh than euro, where you couldn't drop from body if you were pked), which is the only reason I can think of for not wanting SW to be a contest zone.

If it's about the challenge of a fight, you can do that in a Contest Zone just as easily.

.
both of these. you are rewarded for killing mobs, why not occasionally players?

people always have the option to go sw in shop kit, shop kit on here is pretty decent too.

I don't mind a fight but I don't like stealing items and I tend to return them unless someone gives me a reason not to.

Stealing? That carebear attitude is what ruined mir IMO.. PvP in mir has always been one of its biggest aspects. It's not stealing its being rewarded for a job well done. As mentioned , you dont need pvp content.. Just maps that promote PK

I didn't realise mir had been ruined, but I guess I'll take your word for it.

What some would call "carebear", others would call "not being a prick", but each to his own :)

FYI, PvP can be it's own reward. I'm very sorry that you need an incentive to bother.

By the way, we already have "maps that promote PK". It's called everywhere in mir except for a very small number of safe zone and contest zone areas.
