I didn't realise mir had been ruined, but I guess I'll take your word for it.

What some would call "carebear", others would call "not being a prick", but each to his own :)

FYI, PvP can be it's own reward. I'm very sorry that you need an incentive to bother.

By the way, we already have "maps that promote PK". It's called everywhere in mir except for a very small number of safe zone and contest zone areas.

Its own reward how? By going red and cursing? You always have the option of tting... Too many consequences to pking.. I am glad this version has drops.. This is the way it should be and I hope the staff don't give in to carebears such as yourself...

Body drops was brought in on mir3 wemade for a day up until all the complaints brought it to an end... Yes only a day!

Mir wouldnt be Mir without the body drops:)
But i have to agree with the above comments.

Some people have PVP and PK mixxed up i think.

PVP should be a player friendly experience and shouldn't result in punishment if killed.

PK is the naughty side of it, and yeh if you kill a player you could be "rewarded" but at the same time you are putting yourself at risk, aswell as placing yourself in the naughty corner for however long.
i dont think there should be any safe zones for red players, so they can be hunted down!!
a bounty systems would be nice!! and gives players a chance to either be the "most wanted" or say "im the Doooggg the Big bad dog the bounty hunter"

So i think making SW rewarding and make it a non droppable contested zone would be a good idea and should encourage people to join in on the pvp side of things more.

I would also like to see some sort of "tournament" system where players are forced to fight in standard shop gear equipment to decide whos the better player, this will show the skills of players rather then just there kit+pot.

I would also like to see a change to the pvp system in terms of changing it more the the lineage 2 style system.
So when i attack someone my name is flagged brown for pvp, if the other player attacks me back, his name should also turn brown, so none is punished for killing the other.(other then body drops)

Meaning you can only get PK points for killing a non flagged player(somone with a white name who has not attacked any players)

This would also remove alot of forms of griefing

I think you should always have the chance to drop on death, Otherwise there is absolutely no penalty for dying....

both of these. you are rewarded for killing mobs, why not occasionally players?

people always have the option to go sw in shop kit, shop kit on here is pretty decent too.

I'm happy for kit to drop in Dungeons when pking, however if you want to attract those players who prefer PvE to PvP zones then remove dropping kit.

Much like FPS games tailor their maps to force more action the devs here might be able to do the same.

A boss that spawns at a set time every day or 2 that is quite rewarding would force people to fight for it. Maybe make it that you can only take a certain number of guild members so its not a numbers game but rather PVP skill.

Stealing? That carebear attitude is what ruined mir IMO.. PvP in mir has always been one of its biggest aspects. It's not stealing its being rewarded for a job well done. As mentioned , you dont need pvp content.. Just maps that promote PK

That word appears yet again... Carebear.

You can PK in the entirety of mir and have players drop (This wasn't in Euro), Sabuk wall should be a player versus players zone that promotes Fighting for a worthwhile reward (IN this case rework Sabuk Wall rewards) not puts players of it but dying so many times they will end up with no kit at the end.

Out in the Dungeons and areas of mir yes we have no issues with this.

However if you want people to attend PvP areas (Sabuk) then provide a reason for them to go to the areas.

Bingo!

I don't agree on the going brown when defending yourself portion of it though.

There will always be two sides to this argument.

Those of us who would love to get involved in Sabuk Walls wars given the removal of Kit drops in designated Contest zones (In this case Sabuk)

Those who want to see body drops everywhere and deem everyone who doesn't "Carebears".

You clearly aren't listening because I never said I wanted drops from body removing.

Too many consequences to PKing, ha! You have body drops and weak-assed archers that don't matter here already. I'm so sorry that sometimes you might go red and curse, boo hoo lol.

In the case of somewhere like SW, where there is a clear objective in mind, it's not about killing players for their drops imo, it should be about taking control of the wall. People either aren't going to turn up, or will wear **** gear to, if there's a danger of dropping and losing items to opportunistic little thieves (sorry, non-"carebears") like you.

Edit: I would direct you to grim's post though, which sums up the difference between PK and PVP very well. I don't have a problem with the current PK system (although I'm obviously the cancer that is killing mir by returning things to people sometimes), but if you want to promote actual PVP (which again, is a different thing), you need to give people a reason to turn up.

As it's mainly the big guilds looking for more pvp, wouldn't making guildwars free and removing the restrictions on them work? No curse no going red and no reason not just to fight each other.

I'd personally love to see more done in the way of PvP or at least make it more friendly to everyone.

Sabuk wall wars could be huge if they found a way to involve the entire user base (Kills, Assists etc)

there is no reason to remove drops from sabuk wall, you have greed stones, bound stones, better than euro shop kits, rt's, tt's.
if you want to pvp without the worry of losing kit, invest in some stones, its a small price to pay.

and i agree a free for all sabuk wall where all guilds can participate, once every 2weeks or so would be a good start to get more guilds involved in sabuk.

Maybe every weekend, and the SW holders have some extra visual effects (the SW name is old and unattractive). Maybe even a Top 20 SW killers would be a start ?! :)

Worthing is depressing.
Would be cool to see the new Korean SW implemented where you can destroy the actual walls with Catapults.

Could different war types be implimented for different costs??

At work at the moment but a breif idea of some, one as somebody highlighted;

SW Wall Point Win - Where you win on a number of people killed / how many walls/archers etc you kill/ number of capturing the castle.

No Pots Allowed

Will expand later when im home, but i think just spicing it.. but its got to be constantly updated/improved to make it fresh once in a while.

A top scoreboard for SW would be cool, also maybe a decorative horse or something which expires after 24 hours.. as SW's are not daily.. it wouldn't be game altering.

Perhaps it would get guilds involved but only if Sabuk has any value at all - CUrrently it has none.

And again some guilds (PvE guilds) will still have no interest in losing kit for no return at all.

Mayb SW owners can spawn 1 boss a day inside there palace?
or 1 group KR teleport once aday? (or gives the owner the ability to recall group once aday)

atleast it would give people a reason to want to own SW more :)

Stated torches has always been the way to go for SW!

yeh, id drop my HA/SOWG for a stated torch.

......

Im a massive fan of PVP, but i agree with the "care bears". PVP is only fun if people participate. if its just the same 6 idiots its not fun.

If you could involve 200 People at an SW war.... you'd be having to much fun to notice that no-ones dropping, and the reward of sw would be reward enough. (actually you'd probarly just instantly lag out and die, as Mirs engine couldnt handle it)

Guild V Guild competition is what makes Mir, I had loads of fun on euro fighting at OKS/MK/ZT and we didnt have body drops then.
