He's just being kind, that's all :)

plenty of us who would fund a server on a bomb-proof ip, best looking mir since forever.. most folks playing are now certainly in a position where 20 or 30 bucks a month is nothing.. not blowing my own trumpet at all, just offering help if it is needed..

You can't avoid DoS attacks completely just so you're aware.

All you can do is make them less effective, this company unfortunately had absolutely zero protection so it received absolutely full destruction of a DoS attack.

The protected ones will still slow the servers (How slow depends on the power of the server itself), but when Sam finds another host, if it's powerful enough the DoS attacks will make such a small impact that they won't bother anymore.

Pick a too weak of a server, and they will continue to attack because its working....attackers don't attack if it doesn't work

Cheap hosting does not invest in powerful routers and firewalls. CISCO and Juniper costs lots of money!

hence why I offered, if there really is 400+ going to play only needs a few people like me and server can be hosted on the 'loads of money' hosts, where the ddos has little effect.

I doubt the issue is money, they'll be making more than enough from the server itself when its running - The delay probably more down to the fact that when you sign up for a hosting there's usually a 24-48 hour wind up time while they put things in place.

I would imagine he's contacting multiple providers to see if their's anyway to get things moving faster. - but It would be good to know officially if "Today" is feasible or weather we'll be looking at Sunday/Monday.
