Right my girlfriend just bought a brand new PC, after I finished setting it up for her, I whacked in the USB Adapter for wireless internet, installed it (didn't seem to follow the same path as in the instructions) and now it won't work, I'm using a Belkin Wireless G+ USB Adapter and I can use a little silver Inventel thing if either work.. Advice please.

i work at currys, and we've been told belkin and netgear routers arnt setup to run on vista yet. we've had loads of complaints with this.

if you can get on the internet normally, try downloading a newer driver cd from their site.

My 54MB Netgear WT111 works on vista

thats strange.

i have no idea if linksys routers work with vista, since they arnt compatible with our provider in this area.

this is only what ive been told by my managers and whiney customers, not by first hand experience btw. they cld all be incompitent.

Probably something the customers are being told to shut them up.
What I think they mean is that they're not IPv6 compliant, but this shouldn't stop them from working with IPv4.

Pyraine: will the adapter let you install just the drivers without any additional software?
Are you using the software (if it comes with any) to control the adapter or are you using windows to manage the connection? The latter being preferred.

Yeah the CD drivers are XP only, so I downloaded drivers from the belkin site and put them on and changed it so windows controls the connection but it still won't connect for some unknown reason, it doesn't even get to the point where i enter the WEP

I'm more than sure that the adapter could be set to G, if not done automatically.
