PayPal - Need Help

Well i've received £200 in donations from my server.

PayPal decide to lock my account and ask me to bill in bank account details + National Insurance Number - So i did it.

PayPal have still restricted access to my bank account and are asking for more things which I cannot fill in.

PayPal sent me out a letter saying that I am overdue: £143.62p
I dont have a clue how this has worked out as my accounts been restricted and I can't even use my money on PayPal yet...
And they are requiring I mail the money to them out of my own pocket ;l

Surely they can't take a penny off me when they have got the cheek to restrict my PayPal account so I can't use my cash, Then expect me to pay them £143.62p when I haven't attempted to spend a penny of it!

I need some fast help on this A.S.A.P please, I dont want them to end up taking me to court

But its an online bank account, they have links with actual bank accounts like Lloyds TSB, NatWest etc

Surely they can't do that? :S

They can keep your money for 180 days, its stated in the terms and conditions you clicked ok on when you made your account, same happened to me and i have to wait until september lol....

Same happend to me, i have taken some of the steps to resolution, just have to wait and see what happens unless you take the steps that they say, or try ringing them up. if you put your proper number in they will most likely be ringing your house soon

This is why you should have your bank account directly linked with PayPal lol.

That way any spending goes through PayPal, which they will then take from your account the exact amount for your transaction, then you will never owe PayPal anything lol.


Then when you receive money, always transfer it straight into your account, never re-spend it via PayPal, cause this happens lol


Common sense if you think about it, would you trust anyone other than your bank and yourself to look after your money? I think not lol

they think you are using the accout to scam ppl for little bits of money at a time and use the clearing period to check you out.

yeah i dont see why anyone wld ever not link paypal to a bank account, why would u want your money sitting in a website? i use paypal just as an easy method to transfer funds over the net so i dont have to give out my details. wld neva want my money in there.

thats what i do, just use it to send money from my account when needed

Get your account verified with paypal, as everyone has said. You need to link you bank account with your paypal account now, as paypal even though they are an offshore account they are being monitored for fraudulant transactions.

So if you don't have a bank account verified with you paypal account then this happens.

Paypal locked my account once, after sending them a photcopying of my passport,drivers license as i was asked it still took them ages to bother unlocking it. they have always been good to me...so dont know how you can say it sucks.

If you only have account details to transfer across to your account and no other verification, then they have a duty to investigate and lock down accounts. This is to stop money laundering, however if you have verified your account with a Debit/Credit card then they know the account is legit and will only monitor the account for 'High' amounts of money being transfered through.

It's all about how the account was varified in the first instance.

Basicly your not getting off the hook, You need to get a cheque sent to them with the outstanding amount you ow them, Failing this they will soon enough hand the debt over to a company which when they contact you costs you another 50 pounds and then they give you say 14 days to pay it in full if you dont you then get another 50 poounds added to the total, Iv been here and done it myself best to get it out the way with ASAP.

what i dont get is (maybe im missing something)

if someone transferred you £200 to paypal. why is paypal asking for £150 from you? i cant see any reason why they'd want your money other than that uve gone 'overdrawn' on your account and they want it back.

confused. someone explain please.

Basicly hes gone over drawn if he doesnt pay up hes going to get further charges ect.
