Hi all.
I was just having a thought about the servers income, knowing that the income helps keep the developers interests high.
We all know that having a large quantity of items available to buy breaks the game and offers a really short duration to any server.
I have some thoughts around gems being in the game shop and "think" that this could be a good level of steady income whilst not breaking the economy.
Here is how I think it could work...
Available gems in game shop
AC/MAC/DC/MC/SC/Dura/PoisonRes. ( I consider these to be the non-game breaking stats)
What would stop the players buying gems to sell? technicaly buying gold...
The Gameshop gems would be account bound - no trade no sell etc
ANY items successfuly gemmed using a GS gem also becomes account bound - no trade no sell etc etc
A flaw with no trade no sell is that people could try and sell the items via death body drops.
Making them not drop would remove the fun from PvP
Making them break on death could be a solution but would likely remove the amount of people willing to use them.
the finer details can be discussed at another point if the player base and or team think this is plausible.
What effect would this have on the market?
Potentially increase the price of things like Power rings, Knight Bracers, Titans, Dbells, Violets.
Potentially reduce the price of plat ore q14-
Potentially reduce the price of the listed gems.
Potentially increase the price of the non-listed gems.
Increase the price of HardTorches.
Increase the volume of HardTorch Gameshop purchases.
Cost of the gems??
£2.50 each gem or 5 for £10
I get this price from what I have read before about 1mill being £2 - £3 from those dirty gold sellers
Downside - server becomes pay to win?
I think the main people that will use this will use these gems are already "pay to win" people.
Kit sharing will be a problem.
