I have not read all the comments and have not voted because I cant really make up my mind on this.

If you add gems to the game shop I think ull kill the income for the new players and cash flow for mid range gamers who cannot compete for bosses.

When I'm online I have a miner running a laptop to help fund pots and when i'm feeling lucky trying to upgrade my kit.

If the gems are in GS I will buy lots until my kit is +3 and have a film running on the laptop.

I only mine in MM and I have not seen botters so I don't think there is an issue with mine botting.

People are already paying cash for accounts and items, making the server far more pay to win than is advertised imo. Putting Gems in the shop just makes it silly. And you will lose a lot of players.

Aesthetics should be the only think in GameShop. Dunno how much work it would be to code, but maybe make dyes? each armour is effectively 1 major colour and one trim, make it possible to dye them and maybe people will put abit of cash into that.

Stats in shop = server death for me.

On a side note relating to GameGold....can we take the laughably pointless Chests out of drops, seriously, id rather you stick a med pot in there instead, it has more worth. Impact drugs are 500? and Chests half the time give 1 GG.....really, what is the point?

Lots of fair points on both sides of the coin.

Something else to consider is how big the gap is already between people that can mine or play all day and those that cant.
How big will the gap be if it continues.

I saw an assassin the otherday with +11agil before lightbody (also had top end DC everywhere else.
noone could hit it, it lsid everyone to waste.

Most of the "pay to win" or "hardcore" alteady have +3 on the majority of kit and are working on alternative kits
While the casual player might make 2 gems a week.

I think this idea is already dead but i can still see more pros than cons to implement it.

strong stay strong the weak catch up...

You're never going to be able to make it fair for those who don't play often, against those who do play every hour of the day. It's like someone going to work for 2 hours, and expecting to earn the same as someone who does 12 (let's not include benefits scroungers here :P )

Our guild is very casual, people do benefit from it even though they don't log in often, due to how we run the guild. We don't just reward the hardcore players.

Wasn't it said at the beginning of the server that the game shop would never sell items where an advantage could be gained..?

Surely selling gems would then provide a huge advantage to anybody who can afford to donate (doesn't make a huge difference to me tbh but thinking of other players here)

I vote for private caves. I think much people is leaving the server because they cant hunt any boss without being pked by the big guilds.

this is not true.

as the big guilds no longer exist.

Your guilds to compete with now are DragonDynasty and Foraken... these are not the big pking guilds... We (TKO) wiped a DD group today going for Frost with 4 of us vs 7-10 of them. TKO/Team/Orgs seem to be the guilds leaving not every 1 else. So that statement is not true.

I don't understand whats wrong with people selling CashShop Items for Ingame gold?

Enabling CashShop Items to be tradable:
Server will benefit from increased sales, Gold would be more evenly distributed creating a healthier economy. (Win Win)

Where's the negative here?

My thoughts were that it enable an individual to effectively buy gold...

They would buy gameshop items for real cash, and then sell those items for in game gold, seemed a little unfair to the average guy who is not interested in the gameshop and just wants to play.

Was just my opinion, maybe it was wrong.

I like the idea of the private cave scroll, perhaps the cave could drop a much higher % of gold and have mobs with a decent amount of XP to boot. Maybe 1/2 bosses with a chance to drop a semi rare but nothing to throw the game out of balance.

It'd be nice to have something to spend my stuff on.

I have a ton sitting around (as I like supporting the server and have played lots, the hours of entertainment spent I'm happy to give back a bit for) but nothing to really spend it on, knowledge/hardtorches/stat drugs are basically free on tm.

Exp pots are about the only thing there really is to buy and they cost way too much and give too little benefit to be worth actually spending it on.

Haircuts are cheap

Already have vanity mount.

Something else or things made worthwhile to spend the currency on would be great, and help encourage financial growth from the server (and therefore encourage more/faster progress and events perhaps?)

turn it into a cash cow server and you mite as well close now.
a game shop is bad enuff at all. if u need cash then the "donation" is the only way to go.
dont let greed be your downfall.

Hi Jez,
you seem to only see your view on this matter rather thsn taking into account that the server costs money to run.
To prolong the life of the server money needs to come from somewhere.
When the contract with the host is through why would they renew if only to make a loss and take abuse before, during and after.

Its all perfectly well and good to disagree with some of the suggestions in this thread but try and think of some solutions.

What would make you dig into your pocket and hand over £6 a month or £20 every three months.
Then think would this idea also make the other 99% of the playerbase do the same.

what makes you think Sam's joined the soup queue?
the server costs are well covered, anything else is greed, it is a "stolen" game dont forget.
i still donate myself, thats a quarter of the server costs covered...
£80 a month was it?
