PS2 or PS3?

I been wanting to get back into the final fantasy series, have not been able to play any above no 9 on the pc, plus theres a few other games id like to play on the console, is a ps3 worth it if i use my pc more or is a ps2 better for me to use when im not using pc? ps3 is a bit out of my budget but i could stretch to it if i had to....

Well, Final Fantasy 13 and future FF games will be on the PS3, but you can't play older FF games as the PS3 doesn't support backwards compatibility anymore.

Just get the PS3.

trust me get a xbox360 FF13 WILL BE ON IT. and with the money say u could probs buy a ps2 as well as ff7-12

dont flame me cuz i have a ps3 and not used it for nly 3 months as theres just a lack of games for it that arnt on the xbox

Yeah, supposedly, not sure how true that is, PS3 is way overpriced as it is.

Buy yourself a 60GB PS3 off ebay, that way you can play PS2 titles on it aswell as any future releases you are wanting to play.

Yeah since um last year.

FF13 will be released at the same time on the PS3 and Xbox in the US and Europe.

Personally I'd say go for the Backwards Compatible PS3 if and only if you have a HDTV. The upscaling makes them look much better. Otherwise go for a PS2 + 360 combo. Will work out cheaper than a PS3 and you won't regret it.

cheers guys, dont have a hdtv so ill go for ps2/xbox combo any idea if future ff will be on xbox? like 14 etc?

The only reason i brought a PS3 is because of the future FF's, but if i had to choose out of a X-box or PS3 it will be 100% PS3, better all around. Can't play ps2 games on the 40GB one but you can on the 80GB, wish i knew that when i got the 40gb one tho.

The 80GB models no longer have backwards compatibility either (I have one without it), I don't think any new PS3's have it. You'd probably be able to pick one up on Ebay though.

yeah i bought a ps3 just after xmas, got 4 games on it and never play it. wish i got an xbox now
