Which Set of Files are best to use now days? Theres loads of versions i just get lost lol

Im sure you have asked this before or was that someone else?? Oh well the answer to your quest is quite simple.....

CruelDragon 3.38 is probably about the best, well tested 3G Server files, now it has a few limitations of course But im sure these will not trouble you...

• Limit is 110 People Online
• GFE can a slight bug sometime when directly in from of the mob.
• Apperntly on 3.38 EC once hit/you get posioned or something, client disconnects (not on mine it dont :brows.
• Dark & Holy talisman dont Buff stats as they should
• Oh - and its in Chinese punk:

Dont even start asking about Glowing Armour or using the latest client - thats supported (so I heard) in the latest 3.5X onwards, as are Auto level skills to 5 and all other nice stuff.

Yes, thanks... lol dont worry i kno all about the client and glows.

Another thing i have tried to set up holley CD. I download the CD files (not the old ones) and there is not CD.exe or ini so i stick the 3.38 patch in but every time i run the CD.exe (with no .ini) it just doesnt do anything apart from put it self in my process's and thats it.

any suggestions?

if you don't have a CD.ini file when you run CD.exe one should be created for you. Then you'd need to change the sql id and password within it.

As for the EC bug Demonic is on about this is usually cuased when people set its AC value above 70.

See the problem is that it doesnt create it. Th CD.exe should be in mud3 folder right?

This is using the CD Files & Holley 3.38

download the files again then. like adamsy said, if u dont have an ini file, u run the exe and it will create it.

Xander Start the Exe and wait for Error, then Click ok and the Exe Flash up
and go down, in this Time the Exe has make a Ini in the same Foulder.
The Error mean the Exe has no Connect to the DB not more ^^ .
CD3.38 don't need a Foulder called mud3, you can make all ;-)

Better Still - Get a Decent Set of files...Heres One I made Earlier in fact:

This set will sort of get you off to a Good start with English DB, Directory already laid out for you, NPCS in English, Drops in English, All Maps, mapinfo, Minmap coded for new places, Drops matching DB and so forth...

Your gonna have to do the rest yourself though

I would suggest taking these TWO links and plonking on a sticky - or even better - grab them and re-share on faster better links. Many people on Ragezone have grabbed these files, followed my Guide and have a working server - if they fail after this, then all hope is lost tbh..

starttimer error related to database is it not?
If so is it the monsters that there cannot be duplicates?

if the error says HL_monster with starttimer afterwards then you have duplicate mobs. If the error is the with the stditems then its either a duplicate item or the idx is muddled up somewhere.

I'll try and break my server and post a Q&A session on the Errors that you get - this will probably help people. My Guess is Server Name, IP, ODBC, Gates set up wrong etc.and so forth...

Ok, Just checked all IPs and Server names and its all fine. Gates set up right with correct sa passwords and db names and the gates all connect fine.

Is there any certain way to run them like what exe to run first and so on?

Ok problem found, In the monster database one of the monsters has ' infront of its name im editing now and then i will try to run the server.

That didnt fix the problem so ill keep looking
