Status of the server

Hi all

Just to update you all and keep everyone informed as to what is happening.

First off I will say sorry again, I have been awake all night worrying about the server.

Right now the hard part.
Due to the large amounts of gold that have been obtained, over 300M according to the logs there will be a rewind back to when the ST files where added to the server. (midnight on the 15th of May) This has not been an easy choice to make and I fully understand that this will upset a lot of players.

There will be double exp until at least Monday evening.
All game gold will be returned to anyone who bought some.

The problem I am having at the moment is the fact that I don't have full admin access to the server machine and am unable to run the files due to this fact( I have been in contact with the server hosts and they are working on it)

I have no ETA on when the server will be back online.

As I have already said I take 100% blame for this issue and fully understand any anger from the players.

I will post again when the server is back online.

not that i have anything against your actions (hell it's nice to have someone who just admits he made a mistake and try's to fix it as best as he can)
however: you're making the same mistake alot of server hosts tend to make. you're trying to make up for the loss ppl who played thursday/friday had, by rewarding ppl who play on weekends. might have been better to do something like giving a 24hr exp potion @ login, so everyone gets same reward regardless of wether or not they are weekday or weekend players

I believe this is the right decision.

Babyhack, I'm wasn't initially your biggest fan (I don't like the way you lock threads so frequently) but the work you've done on the drop files has clearly been a game changer in a good way, don't feel guilt or stress over this event. Anyone could have overlooked this and this is the correct decision to remedy things. I don't think anyone of a reasonable disposition is going to hold a serious grudge against you for this. I think overall the player base has to thank you overall for the time you've put in to improving the drop files and I'm sure much more good is to come.

P.S. I can't play for next 2 days so I wont get double exp but I'm not moaning about that. I'd rather people be at most a day or two ahead of me on leveling than the equivalent of 50-200 hours chesnut hunting which would unbalance the game to no end. Noone is going to get from L1->45 over the weekend, think people are overreacting a bit, could have been a lot worse.

Id pefer mistakes to be made over and over again over nothing being worked on.. dont be disheartened

^^ that pisses me off and people who have stopped lvling recently will all pile into caves at the same time making it harder to earn it back except at silly o clock at night.

But im more annoyed at the items (and gold ive made selling it) and the kit i've gained in that time.

Its hard enough to get on my wiz as it is.

I agree if I had my archer this would make me return due to the 2.0 patch x2 would make people grind.. Nd sorry to hear about the players who wasted there time levelling the last few days but 300 mill gained as much as people don't like it, it kinda needed to be a rewind.
at least he has the balls to put his hand up and admit it most people would be like ' I have no idea how this happened ' so for that thanks for you honesty.

and nice work babyhack atleast you admit to a mistake, it happens in life no ones perfect, ignore these drama queens shouting that they ''quit'' , they just want attention and will be on a hour after server goes back up. Clearly if 300mil gold is ingame that shouldnt be it had to be done.
