Let's not have warriors that can compete with wiz AOE skills...

This is the issue trying to incress war leveling speed but not turn them into high hp/ armoured wizzards

lmao @ all that

even CHM is good but u guys need DC !

tbh on mir cummunity if you open a subject, any subject....you always will get moaners... even if things are good they will find something that isn't lolz

CHM is good? no its like BA a niche skill it has its solo useful point but out side of that its pointless. Its nothing to do with the amount of DC we have its to do with simple damage out put and damage input, when you look at the speed of killing 8 mobs at a time with chm and the cost in pots/dura it soon fulls well behind TDB.

The only real issue for me is because mobs are so quick on here and flinch less than other servers it means us warrs take more damage then normal. Thus making it harder to level solo especially in places such as vipers.

Saying that, I'm level45 and I'm a really slow leveller so it can't be all that hard to level a warrior.

It's not hard to level as a war, its just harder to level on a war then the other two class's i think is most peoples issue. I personaly have only played a tao on this server to 34 and loved leveling it plus it was as fast and cost alot less then my war did but my pets are still useful and with what most High level's say that comes to an end at about 38/40ish.

IMO the problem with Warriors in PvP is that pretty much every skill either doesn't work or is useless. We have 2 skills to use (TDB and FS) and we only use TDB because FS is on CD. I guess Rage is useful too but it's too rare to even mention. In PvE the issue is we can't tank as well as a Wizard so we're pretty much useless against most bosses in small groups.

There's only 3 changes I'd like to see to improve the Warrior without making it OP:
1: Entrapment - Make it work in PvP (without the para function). We had Beckon in Mir3 which didn't cause any issues.
2: ProtectField - Needs to buff more AC and also grant AMC. It's shocking that a warrior is probably the worst tanking class in PvP and PvE.
3: TwinDrakeBlade - Needs to use slightly less MP, I feel embarrassed asking wizards to drop me MP pots half way through a hunt.

If it's true Assassins might be introduced soon I'd be interested in seeing what skills they get. Having been one for years in Mir 3 I know they can make the Warrior much more useful in PvP at-least. eg: I used to grip opponents to the floor while our Warriors jumped on them and ganked them.

/Aldor (level 46 Warrior after 2 weeks, still resisting the urge to re-roll Wizard so I can PvP and kill bosses).

Edit: Also being at war with my opponent makes PvP so much harder. Having my char "lock-on" to SonOfaDog only helps him. Whereas with shift-click I can run circles around him <3. I'd love an option to turn this function off.

I really can't talk to much about pvp as i don't attack people, just not my way so can't really comment to much tho in regards to the PVE comment i think its less wizzards are better tanks and more a wizzard in BDA is a better tank, would that be a better assessment?

This, but still going to say again, leveling a warrior is easy until 47/48. It's not untill i hit 48 that i can't be assed leveling anymore. (still am now and again, need to get 50) Feel sorry for any wars who feel leveling is hard 43+ XD.

Tho you know the server has more to come and we have more levels to get! Add to this our level 50 skill is not going to be useful for leveling means that we will be back to the same old grind plan, tho Tao's might be in the same boat depending on whats going on with his "new pet".

The comment about lucking war weapons... ask Sam outright maybe? could just be wars curse more often have less luck or we sell more bene's then we use (As whitetiger said war gear costs more, plus we just cost more.) as a class which is why there are so few high luck weapons.

So with people saying and Sam pushing the whole CHM/BA idea forward how is it going to be done?

CHM

The reason we don't use it comes down to we take to much damage and it takes longer to kill a group of mobs with it than it does to just single target them down with TDB. What about adding a passive +4 A.Speed to CHM when turned on, tho it would then need to block the ablitly to use FS/TDB (plus slaying while we are at it.) so people can't abuse it for the A.Speed buff.

BA

This... is hard tbh, unlike CHM this hits every target for our 100% white damage to a max of 9 targets that means if you hit 9 targets its already doing insane damage (TDB is only 2xhits for 1.2, even taking into account AC pen and +50% damage debuff its not even near.) and only cost 5/8 more mana a cast.

To that affect if the damage goes up wars dura issue could be solved! As i'd start spaming this and walking off so the mob could never hit me. If the mana cost goes down... lets be real unless its cut in half we won't bloody use this and even then most of us still won't.

So not sure how you could bring BA into the fold with out just shunting TDB out.

Also as a side note BA is classed as a magic spell like SD meaning its unaffected by A.speed/PA/Slow so these would then become less useful stats to a leveling war.

Hoping it counts towards change and improving the war's as a class, if that fails atlest giving people some food for thought and keeping the discussion moving forward ;p

I think a BA/CHM upgrade sounds good. :)
But personally think warriors are a 1 on 1 class, not an aoe class (although I guess most games have all classes with some sort of aoe).
Problem with levelling is that there isn't many optimum places for a war to level fast killing mobs (with high xp) 1 on 1, and most places favour killing mass lures. (Orcs is alright, but takes a while to kill and not worth soloing. Pb and vipers is good too. Taos and wizz can mass lure in those places though, I think. And mass luring in general is a lot faster than soloing there).

About the pvp part, i don't think giving wars a dodge effect or a parry effect is a characteristic that fits the class. It is more of an assassins characteristic (although never played a sin in mir =O).
Personally i think a type of berserk mode would be better, where the warrior becomes unflinchable for a small period of time. This imo fixes the fact that casting speed is high. To stop it being overpowered, it could have negative effects like stopping you using any other skill/keeping your mp at 0 for duration of skill and when skill ends warrior stops moving/running (emulating taking a breath in rl)/have a long cast time like MS/blizz. I don't know, I may be taking rubbish here (let me know if I am :( ).

I don't know if adding this skill is possible though, since Sam mentioned that he won't reinvent a 12? year old game and I guess this skill may be border line that. I'm just thinking out loud. =O

Edit: Entrapment buff could also do by working on players. But if it does, than imo it also needs a nerf, like if you were hit mid entrap, opponent would stop being pulled and no para effect on players.

I like the Berserk idea but a huge hole in this plan is warriors burst skills like FlamingSword and TDB is where a lot of people are caught and die. Removing these for the sake of not flinching is just not enough, ShoulderDash is good at getting you to places (even if you take hits on the way) and then able to deal damage once there. So Berserk would have to do more than just make you un-flinchable. Perhaps 12 seconds where you cannot be flinched, increase incoming damage to the warrior by 30%? (Spitballing now...) and can still use all spells. (Also perhaps an att.speed increase aswell?) Cooldown of 45 seconds? So basically once a minute you can be a beast for almost 1/4 of a minute. - As has been said before, just ideas.

Reason why i think you shouldn't be able to use skills (like tdb and fs) while being impervious to flinching is that it would make warriors way too op. Wizzies and taos would be easily caught by warriors. Personally i think it should be more of a defensive skill to help a warrior regain composure during a fight (although i guess sd can do that too). It could decrease your ac/mac while increasing dc/att speed.

That's why I suggested a low active time with long cooldown. You have a short window where you have a good chance of doing what a warrior does best. Perhaps having a visual effect on the warrior to allow other players to see you are "Zerking".

No offense but simple statistics shows that your gear is at the 100th percentile, which means that your 'war is fine' viewpoint is irrelevant to any proper decision making process.

And lets be reasonable here, why are you calling out someone when every server you have had the 100th percentile gear...There is no secret to why you have the gear. Please be reasonable its a big picture thread.

what u talking about why i have the gear?? coz i kick ur ass?

btw i was lvl 1 with no items too but i got where i am coz i wanted? tbh u just want thing to be on your table and i cba seeing so much craps, cba posting this **** everyone got some tears here.

Coming from the guy that made a post crying about wiz/Tao being OP, brilliant.

Good idea tbh, but it all comes down to how rare this skill will be? If they creat a skill like this, it'll have to be not very rare so pretty much all wars can get it, other wise making a skill and having it ultra rare will jus end up being where we are now.

Very good point indeed. Yeah the temptation for a new skill will be "Next stage" and making it rare and for only the highest of levels instead of helping balance PVP / Help warriors level a little faster. If, IF this can/is/will/would/could ever be done and done well I couldn't see it being of any great use in PVE other than while luring (but even then... SD is tried and tested for luring) so seeing it drop from the usual book droppers would be nice. Would totally suck for a skill to help balance pvp like this is added only to be super rare and back to square one...

The common mistake made on all mir servers is having skills being really rare, people get said skills and become all mighty powerful and dominate easier, and the rest struggle to put up a fight!

I'm all for certain game breaking skills to be rare, as the result of getting said skills are game breaking like you have mentioned, but this about balancing wars in PvP/PvE, which ill still stand by what's already been said, sorting of this lock "bug" which would significantly give wars a chance against a caster, and upping CHM/BA could help in PvE, or lowering certain mobs AC so FS/TDB hurts more meaning wars can kill faster 1by1

so the strong get stronger/too strong and monopolize everything in game and everyone quits and server dies? Wars are fine as is, just need some kind of cooldown stun/pull for pvp.

CHM is fine.
ill admit lvling gets quite slow for warriors at higher lvls, dunno what u can do about this, but increasing damage on chm doesnt seem right

BA damage is much reduced from euro damage, as with 60 dc on there i hit a max of 120 with lvl 3 ba, and for all concerned BA isnt really a lvling skill, to try n use it for that is silly, its mainly for pvp for example when u get a good few hits on somone n they still manage to walk away, u use BA to get a ranged hit in.

You probably wont complain about wizzies/taos as much if they put in counter attack, granted its a highish lvl skill, but the damage it did was shocking, it granted ac/amc for the 8 seconds it was active(think that was at lvl 3) and did an automatic FlameSword on the target as soon as u come close enough (once 3 hits are taken from the target).

making entrap work against players is stupid, cant see sam even considering that.

What dosent make sense is why the newer war skills are higher lvl to learn then wiz/tao, new war skill 50... Wiz/Tao 48.... Surly wars being hardest to level the skills should be the other way around...

What if... Bare with me on this one... Warriors got a passive skill/buff whatever it would be that meant any single target spell has a 50/50 chance (Much like the taos and wizzies have of hitting warriors on the run / during a ShoulderDash.) reflecting 50% of the damage back to the caster? Or is this just silly? Shoot it down if it is, 30+ hours awake now so... Feel free to make of my idea what you will.
