Im looking for a decent looking car which isn't too costly.
Anything with the insurance under 1,800 a year would be great,
Any suggestions?

How long ago you pass your test?
How old are you?
Where do you live?
Do you have a driveway/garage?
I summise your male?
What will you use the car for?

I had a Vauxhall Corsa (53 Plate) at 18 year old, 1 litre, just parked on the front and used socially, third party, fire and theft. Was £1600 a year.

im 20, drivin 2 years ,no noclaims,
driving a volvo v50 2.0d on a 55 plate, pay £1500 a year with me, the gf, my dad + mum on and yes its all under my name

n for them who think having a garage/driveway lowers your insurance, think again.
when u do your insurance always check "park on the street" aswell as the garage/driveway
in 100% of all my cases in insurance putting it on the drive or garage has increased my premium by £100ish
dunno why, it just does

i work in insurance, and ill give u a tip
dont go for stuff like corsas/206's/punto's n **** like that wot all youngsters get, theyre involved in well too many accidents which shoots up the insurance premium, when u see like theyre group 3 and 4 and stuff it means nothing insurance companies have their own grouping based on the amount of claims that type of vehicle has had and how much has been paid out.
corsas n stuff are in accidents every week and so u pay for it on ur insurance.

best bet is to go for an uncommon car, myself i tend to go for "grandad" cars as theyre always reliable, alot of em are fast and not in as many accidents as the corsas n such

106 & Saxo have the exact same engine.

I prefer Saxo's. Recently bought a Saxo VTR for £800, needs a bit of work though.

I drives a '99 1.8 Focus and pay about £700 (I'm 21)

Also got a '00 1.4 Corolla and that's quite cheap insurance.

Grandad cars ftw.

Saxos are bad motors.

Depends what way you mean by "Bad" realy.

Bad as in wannabe gangstas who talk like dis initz cuzzy
or
Bad as in how most normal people see saxo's... Shít ?
