After reading the class balance thread I thought the issue regarding sun pots needed its own thread.

First and foremost I'm not suggesting to remove sunpots from the game. I'm suggesting to make them less readily available. They are the biggest common denominator when it comes to pvp and balance yet I'm not seeing any suggestions regarding them.

I'm sure for the most part everyone is bored of pvp revolving around how many pots/sunpots a player has in their bag. Making them more scarce will change the dynamics of pvp; when a player will engage and retreat.
I'm not going to roll through scenarios as I'm sure we all know the benefits of sunpots!

"Rich players will always have sunpots
:mad-new:" Well that's too bad, there'll always be rich(er) and poor(er) players in any game. If one can afford the pots then so be it. There will never be a perfect solution when balancing a game whilst trying to also balance it against player independent variables like the economy.

As for pve this will hinder players ability to go out and solo X boss, however they'll still be in the game so surely players will be able to continue whatever it is that they're doing which requires sunpots.

Reduce OW spawn in GI to that of other maps which OW spawns on.
This is the simplest way to reduce them ingame. Players can still gain sunpots from mini bosses / main bosses - one can assume players would also be using sunpots whilst killing such bosses so it would in theory balance out the useage / gain.

Why not try a reduction on sunpots for a period of time before modifying classes skills?

Im not yet decided on this suggestion but the easiest way to "reduce" sun pots is to remove sun bundles instead of messing with spawn/drop files.

I had thought to remove the bundle option. This could also be considered. A huge amount of sun pots come from GI, why not reduce the spawn of OW's there. It doesn't effect the drop of other mobs which drop sunpots.

Either way it doesn't have to be a permanent change, all I'm suggesting is to trial it and see what feedback it provides. After all that is the aim of testing.

Removal of sun bundles would make a greater difference than adjusting drops of them. People can save up as many sunnies as they want but the real problem is when they pop 16 buns of them in pvp

I think suns should be considered more of a luxury than what they currently are, fact is so many omawarriors are available people are getting enough sunpotion(M) to sell them to shop or like someone said remove the option to use strings to bundle them like the old mirs but keep sunbundles as the odd drops off decent bosses.

At the moment unfortunately the main deciding factor is who has purchased the most sun bundles before the fight making certain classes alot more tanky than they should be.

People did fine on euro without sunbundles but like i previously said keep them in but only off decent bosses rather than using string to create them.

Considering both sun pots and string are easy to get for anyone the result is that sun pots do not impact balance and currently there is still content that isn't done with how they are in game now. Removing or changing them would result in more content being not doable as well as further imbalance in favor of those who buy cash or bot.

Much better idea to work on balance than to change this.

There's bosses within the game that require sun pot bundles to succeed with the kill, like someone else said, balance the classes first

Make sun pots heavier or make the bundles heavier
Take away the Craft string from the craft npcs. That way only subs and bosses drop string.

Honestly? I'd say remove all OW's, GiantKeratoids etc. Suns should only come from sub-bosses and I think Strings should be twice as rare as they are now.

Make sunbundles a luxury, not an everyday use. Think this is where balance is going wrong imo.

+1000

Pretty dumb wizzys facediving into warrs, sins, infact everything/one with FF atm with full bags of sun bundles lol... or even in the DragonDynasty videos posted a week or 2 back wizzys being at the front in a orcs warlord hunt and warrs at the back?!? Clearly there's a issue and i think sunbundles are way too obtainable.

Yes fair enough you need them for some content but that's where you plan ahead, plus with babyhacks new subs coming in thats prolyl gonna = more suns dropping.

There is literally 0 fun in fighting someone who can tt and fill bag with sun bundles again in minutes.

I vote take med suns out of OmaWarriors and Giant Keratoids aswell as bots just farming these and selling sunnys to shop for people lol and make string harder to craft/non craft and drop like hardtorch rate.

You cannot say there's not a issue when people are putting in pages and pages of sunbundles in TrustMerch lol,
