dont u listen/read the meeting is to decide on wiping the debt which is why many people think a difference can be made this year/ this decade!
Wiping the debt completely would destroy global economy, its going to take time and dedication to fix it. its not going to happen this decade. Live8 is a help, but Bob geldof is a millionairre idiot who doesnt understand Global economy.
If your lucky, This Generation (Generatins are normally considered to be about a decade) will be noted as the one that kick-starts a giant campaign, or paves the way to clear the debt, or anythign along those lines. But the global economy is very fragile.
For people who are thinking well, why not dent the world economy to fix this solution, lets imagine it happens. First of we do have the problem that some African nations would love to declare war (governments of them anyway).
Second: Africa would need to generate money via trade, so exports start and money rolls in *insert grinding halt problem* - Goods cannot be exported anywhere beuase a ****ed up wold economy means that most countries darent buy the goods.
Third: Severly weak economies such as the South America's and Eastern Europe end up in economic ruin, to survive, they have to borrow money from other coutries, and are so desperate they agree to any terms imposed, which will be high intrest rates from failing countries who are desperately trying to stop their economies failing.
Africa comes out slightly better off, except they can, at best, generate small incomes via the failing trade channels.
A portion of countries get hit so hard Civil war erupts causing widespread panic, mayhem and killings.
Eastern Europe and South America replace Africa as poverty nations, and people like Geldof and his fan club are left looking like ******s, and realise they acheived nothing.
